New Online Staff Development Offerings

Horizon Wimba is an exciting new form of virtual professional development. Using Horizon Wimba, participants can work from their office, their kitchen, or even their patio! Horizon wimba allows for audio chat, text chat, and visual presentations.

● Set-Up and Registration

Before participating in Horizon Wimba sessions, participants will first need to download, run, and successfully complete the Horizon Wimba Setup Wizard at . If you have problems using the Setup Wizard or you need a microphone, contact your Service Center Representative listed on the last page.

Due to the design of the technology, registration is limited to 15 participants. Registration will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis on a statewide basis. Register by sending an email to the address listed next to each walk-through or workshop. Please state the title, date , and time of the workshop or walk-through along with your full name and e-mail.

● Horizon Wimba Walk-Throughs

Note: This ½ hour session must be completed prior to attending your first workshop. During this introductory session, participants will confirm their computer’s capability toaccess Horizon Wimba events, learn how to navigate around the Horizon Wimba learning tool, and practice communication with others through Horizon Wimba.

5. ESL Provider Group Meeting

7. Grouping ESL Students Effectively

10. Visual Fractions
