changes in the editorial board & wiley team

-  As you know, Robin Harris is stepping down as Editor in Chief of eMagRes, and will be joining the advisory board as Chairman. Rod Wasylishen will be taking over as Editor in Chief of the NMR sections, with an MRI Editor in Chief to join in due course. Please see the eMagRes homepage for a notice regarding Robin’s retirement as well as goodwill messages from the Editorial Board: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/book/10.1002/9780470034590

-  Martin Rothlisberger has now retired from Wiley, and we have welcomed Jenny Cossham to the eMagRes team. Many of you may know Jenny from her work on the original print EMR, as well as her many books and journals.

upcoming emagres products

-  There are 4 new EMR Handbooks, which are in the varying stages of the editorial workflow. These are:

NMR Spectroscopy: A Versatile Tool for Environmental Research [Eds Myrna Simpson and Andre Simpson]

§  This Handbook is now all in production and the print and ebook editions are due to publish in July.

RF Safety in MRI [Eds Tommy Vaughan, Devashish Shrivastava in conjunction with the ISMRM]

§  This Handbook follows a successful conference at the ISMRM, led by Tommy Vaughan. Several authors have already written drafts, and these will be reformatted to fit eMagRes style and will publish alongside newly commissioned content.

§  This project is in the author commissioning/writing stage, and we hope to receive final articles in time for issues 3 and 4 of Volume 3

NMR in Drug Discovery and Development [Eds Robin K. Harris, Jeremy R. Everett, John C. Lindon, and Ian D. Wilson]

§  We are pleased to welcome three new Editors to this Handbook. Once these Editors are officially contracted this Handbook will move into the author commissioning stages.

o  Handbook of MRS [Eds John Griffiths and Paul Bottomley]

§  This new handbook is in the early stages of proposal. Once this has been approved we will move into the author commissioning stages.

-  In addition a new handbook on ESR/EPR has been proposed: Rod is currently in discussion with Daniella Goldfarb and hopes to move this forward with co-editors shortly.

-  The Editors are still seeking an Editor for a Handbook on Hyperpolarization. If you have any suggestions for potential Editors please contact Rod directly.

new ‘standalone’ content for emagres

-  As you can see we have a number of Handbooks in the works, and these should provide a significant amount of content for eMagRes issues at the end of 2014 onwards. In the meantime it’s important that we focus on the ‘standalone’ articles which are not part of the Handbooks and publish in eMagRes only.

-  As eMagRes now publishes in Volumes and Issues, it is important that we publish a consistent number of articles in each issue so that when Wiley puts the publication forward to the Abstract and Indexing Services they can clearly see that eMagRes is a regularly updating product.

-  There are a number of overdue articles which we will contact the authors about to try to move these through the Editorial workflow. Where authors have been non-responsive for some time we will be contacting Section Editors to ask them to seek alternative authors.

It’s also important that we focus on commissioning new articles, some time ago Professor Harris asked the Section Editors to nominate articles from the original edition which are outdated, and could therefore be replaced with new articles. I would be grateful if you could each spend some time checking your lists and inviting new authors as soon as possible.
