COACH TEAM AGREEMENT
Your selection as a member of the 2014-2015 Swimming New South Wales Development Program is conditional on you entering into an agreement with Swimming New South Wales and observing and agreeing to the terms of the agreement. It is recommended that you keep your own copy for your records.

This agreement between Swimming New South Wales and (name) ______comes into effect immediately as of ____ / ____ / ____. The Coach knowingly and willingly enters this agreement in collaboration with his/her Club ______.
In consideration of my selection by Swimming New South Wales as a member of the Swimming New South Wales Development Program for 2014-2015, I observe and agree to the following terms & conditions:
1.Coach obligations
1.1.To abide by the Swimming New South Wales Code of Behaviour.
1.2.To comply with the Rules of Swimming, the Constitution and any By-Laws of Swimming New South Wales.
1.3.To attend all scheduled training sessions, camps, meetings, workshops and competitions relating to my selected team/squad. If attendance is not possible due to work, personal , medical or extreme circumstances, I will notify Swimming New South Wales immediately with a letter of explanation and supporting documents (e.g. medical certificate). I acknowledge if I fail to do so I may be liable for any costs incurred on my behalf.
1.4.If I do not provide an acceptable explanation of my non-attendance, I understand that my position in the Development Program will be reviewed by the Swimming New South Wales High Performance Committee and may result in expulsion.
1.5.Observe and comply with all reasonable directions given by Swimming NSW staff and any person appointed to implement these directions.
1.6.Conduct myself in a proper manner so as not to bring myself, Swimming New South Wales or the Development Program into disrepute.
1.7.Conduct myself in such a manner as to obtain and maintain my best possible physical and mental health to perform to the highest possible standard and carry out my obligations to the Development Program to the best of my ability.
1.8.Conduct myself in a manner as to not, by my acts or omissions, engage or participate in:
- Direct or Indirect Discrimination;
- Harassment;
- Vilification;
- Child Abuse.
1.9.Honestly and completely disclose any information to Swimming New South Wales concerning any matters arising in relation to my compliance with this agreement.
1.10.Disclose immediately to Swimming New South Wales any illness and/or injury that may prejudice my proper participation in the activities of the Program.
1.11.Wear the correct team uniform when representing Swimming New South Wales in any activity or competition.
1.12.Toinform my Club of my involvement in the Development Program and participate in all program activities with their full support.
2.Doping
2.1.I agree not to take or use any drugs or stimulants or to participate in any other practices prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FINA and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency (ASADA).
2.2.I agree to comply with the Swimming Australia (SAL) Anti-Doping Policy dated 1st January, 2009.
2.3.I agree to immediately advise a Manager or person appointed in charge, if I suspect another team member has breached Clause 2.1 and/or 2.2. This information will be strictly confidential.
2.4.I acknowledge that if the Manager or person appointed in charge, suspects a breach of Clause 2.1 and 2.2, they are required to make full disclosures of the suspected breach to the Head Coach and Swimming New South Wales Chief Executive Officer.
2.5.I acknowledge that Swimming New South Wales has a Dry Team Policy - “No team member is to consume alcohol or to take any recreational drug of any kind at any time during a team activity. The phrase “recreational drug” includes any drug which is an illegal drug in any State or Territory of Australia.”
3.Competitions
3.1.Athletes of the Development Program are required to compete in the following meets, should they qualify, which are non-negotiable:
- New South Wales Open Championships (Long course and Short course)
- New South Wales Age Championships (Long Course and Short Course)
- New South Wales Metropolitan Championships (Long course and Short course).
- New South Wales Country Championships (Long course and Short course).
- SAL State Teams Championships
3.2.Should I be unable to attend a required meet, I will notify Swimming New South Wales in writing prior the closing date for that meet with explanation and support from my home coach.
3. 3.Swimming New South Wales encourages you to attend at least one interstate meet annually, in consultation with your coach and/or club.
3.4.Athletes selected in a Swimming New South Wales Squads are to make themselves available to compete in the New South Wales State Team, should they meet selection for the State Team. The New South Wales State Team will compete in Canberra at the 2014 State Teams Age Short Course Championships, 26-28th September 2014.
4.Domestic camps/competitions (if applicable)
4.1.I agree to travel with the team for the duration of the designated trip schedule.
4.2.If I wish to make different travel arrangements from the Development Program I will notify Swimming New South Wales immediately and I understand that Swimming New South Wales will only cover my travel to the equivalent cost as per the original costing.
4.3.I understand that if I make different travel arrangements I will not be covered by Swimming New South Wales’s Insurance until I meet up with the travelling Development Program.
4.4.Swimming New South Wales will only cover the costs for the Development Program members as per the original schedule and any different travel arrangements as mentioned in point 4.2. Athletes and their families will organise, notify Swimming New South Wales and incur the other costs associated with their different arrangements (e.g. ground transport to meet the team – bus/taxi etc).
4.5.Swimming New South Wales will reimburse the Coach for the cost as per the original schedule only on request.
5.Breach of agreement
5.1.I acknowledge and agree that a Manager will refer any suspected breach of this Agreement to the Program Manager and/or the Swimming New South Wales Chief Executive Officer.
5.2.I acknowledge and agree that Swimming New South Wales may:
- Issue a warning;
- Exclude or expel me from a program activity;
- Terminate this agreement.

2014 NATIONAL AGE SHORT COURSE
TEAM COACHING SELECTION CRITERIA
To be eligible for selection, you must;
- be a current member of ASCTA
- complete and sign the coach team agreement
- be the primary coach of a selected athlete(s)*
Coaches will be selected on the results of their athlete(s) at thefollowing Swimming NSW Meets;
- 2014 NSW Country Short Course Championships
- 2014 Metropolitan Short Course Championships
- 2014 NSW State Age Short Course Championships
National Age Short Course Team
- Only coaches placing athletes onto the Team will be eligible for selection
- Coaches will be selected in the following age groups;
Female: 13/14 years and 15/16 years
Male: 14/15 years and 16/17 years - Coaches will be ranked upon performances of the athlete selected on the Team, based off the current National Age Short Course Record
- Where a coach of an athlete(s) who is unavailable to compete at selection meets due to National Team Commitments, the coach will still be considered for selection to the team
- In the case of a coach being selected in two age groups they will be selected in the group with their highest ranking swimmer. The third ranked coached will then be promoted.
* Primary Coach means, coaching and programming for that athlete 85% of the past 90days.
