Deepak Chopra Headlines San Francisco Conference - Noetic 2.0: Tools and Technologies for a World Transforming

The Institute of Noetic Sciences opens registration for July 2011 conference with 15% early-bird hotel discount and call-for-poster-session-abstracts

San Francisco, Calif., January 4, 2011 – Deepak Chopra joins the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) this summer as keynote speaker for its 14th international biennial conference to be held at the award-winning Westin San Francisco, July 20 – 24. IONS opened registration this month for Noetic 2.0: Tools and Technologies for a World Transforming with an early bird discount available until January 20th for conference hotel accommodations and a call for poster session abstracts.

As spokesman for the G2 Summit, author of seminal works on science and spirituality, and ambassador of consciousness research in the worlds of business, technology, and politics, Chopra will engage conference attendees in the emerging era of expression, potential, interconnectedness, and sustainability. His keynote presentation is scheduled for Sunday, July 24, at 9:30 a.m.

Other presenters include IONS founder Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell; biologist and author, Rupert Sheldrake; environmental and political activist Joanna Macy; evolutionary cosmologist Brian Swimme; holistic medicine pioneer Rachel Naomi Remen; professor of nursing, Jean Watson, who developed the Watson Theory of Caring, and IONS’ visionary scientists Drs. Marilyn Schlitz, Dean Radin, and Cassandra Vieten.

Conference presentations will cover the science of intuition, tools evolving from the latest neuroscience research, and clinical and scientific perspectives on love and human caring. Speakers will also address cutting-edge advances in mind-matter interactions, capacities for collective intelligence and morphic resonance, worldview literacy, cultivating capacities for 21st-century education, emerging new cosmologies for health and healing, spiritual practices and psychological development, and conscious aging practices.

Limited-Time Registration Discount

IONS is offering a 15% discount on a portion of the hotel rooms reserved for conference attendees ($119 per night versus the regular conference discount rate of $139). These rooms must be booked no later than Thursday, January 20, 2011, and will require full pre-payment. Early-bird discount rooms cannot be canceled once reserved.

Call for Abstracts

Undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students conducting studieson consciousness orin the noetic sciences are encouraged to submit an abstract for consideration for a scientific poster session at the IONS conference. Submission deadline is March 1, 2011; students whose submissions are accepted will be notified by March 30 and will be eligible for a discounted registration fee.
