Programme Notes for 2018
  1. This programme details Club Racing, Interclub Matches, Work Parties, Training Events and Social Events for the 2018 season.

  1. Listed are the names of the designated Officerof the Day (OOD), the Assistant Officer of the Day (AOD) and the Safety Officer (SO) for race days and other sailing events at the Club.

  1. Please note that the Sunday OOD is expected to arrange the refreshments, which are served normally between races.

  1. For Wednesday Evening races the OOD shall act as safety officer. (Any OOD unsure of the duties of the SO shall contact Pete Owen on 01491 871770 for instructions.).

Introduction to the club and boats will be held on Sunday 22 April at 10:00.

Youth Club –Friday evening starting at 6.00pm for 11 years and above, from 20 April to 5 July.
Saturday Morning Club – 10am–12noon during Saturday Sailing for 8 to 11 years.

GENERALINFORMATION

  • All sailing members are expected to carry out OOD, AOD and/or SO duties as listed in this programme.
  • Organisation of OOD, AOD and SO Duties is by use of “Dutyman" Website.Which can be accessed through the Club website or found at
  • At the beginning of the season “Dutyman” will email duty dates to each member.
  • In advance of a duty day “Dutyman” will email members reminding them of their duty.
  • At any time members unable to perform their duty as designated on this programme should arrange a replacement by using the Swap function within “Dutyman”
  • OODs should check that their AODand SO have confirmed/accepted their duty within “Dutyman”. It is important that a SO is present for all Race Days and Junior events.
  • Detailed instructions for the use of “Dutyman” can be found on the Club’s Website and is displayed in the Club House.

NOTES
1.All boats must have a valid river licence and £2,000,000 third party insurance.
2. Club Sailing Instructions are displayed on the OOD hut.
3. Buoyancy aids shall be worn at all times on the water.
4. Club boats are to be used for sailing purposes only.
5. Environment Agency Warning Boards: When stream conditions are stronger than normal, the Environment Agency may place warning boards on the locks and publish river flow warnings.
Red boards – no racing or sailing events to take place
Yellow boards – Racing and sailing events at OOD’s discretion.
6. The decision to stage a race is that of the Officer of the Day (OOD), the decision to sail is that of the individual member
START TIMES
  • Sunday races generally start at 14:30 & 16:00.
  • Junior races and Adult Improver series start at 12:00.
  • Championship Races start at 14:30 (2 races).
  • From 28 October 2018 (end of British Summer Time) Sunday races will start at 13:00 & 14:30.
  • Wednesday pursuit races start at 18:30.
