JOB TITLE:Site Supervisor

REPORTS TO:ProgramDirector, Senior Services

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:Non-exempt

TIME COMMITMENT:Part-time, 24 hours per week

STARTING SALARY:$13.50 - $15.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Site Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of programs, including staffing, participant scheduling and daily activities. Additionally this person provides training and orientation for new volunteers. Like all Respite staff, the Site Supervisor acts as a caregiver, providing direct supervision for program participants.

Essential Functions

  1. Plan and oversee daily activities of program, including monthly calendar for daily activities and music; schedule staff/participants/students/volunteers.
  1. Assistance with client self-administration of prescription medications,which is controlled by detailed, client instruction sheets and as recommended by prescription labeling.
  1. Be thoroughly familiar with the policies and procedures guiding the work of this position in particular and the program or department overall. Perform job functions in line with these policies and procedures.
  1. Participate in training required by accreditation standards, plus performance and quality improvement efforts.
  1. Collaborate and partner with volunteer staff to ensure program objectives and responsibilities are met.
  1. Notify staff and volunteers of in-service training and assist with in-service training.
  1. Review status of participants with Program Director and Assessment Nurse.
  1. Attend monthly meetings for staff, volunteers, and students. Conduct brief daily meetings for staff, promoting open communication and updating of information about participants.
  1. Partner with staff and volunteers, including adherence to agency HR policies and timely completion of performance evaluations. Complete staff or volunteer counseling as needed, maintaining appropriate documentation.
  1. Oversee and participate in set-up, cleanup, snacks and mealtimes; remain on-site during meal periods to assist with participants.
  1. Act as caregiver on regular basis.
  1. Handle outside communication (i.e. 911, family) in an emergency situation. Maintain ongoing communications with families and caregivers in regards to client’s current status, and/or changes in the client’s condition.
  1. Monitor supplies needed on-site for program.
  1. Work with Council on Aging/Nutritionistto order daily meals and supplies.
  1. Administrative duties associated with daily operations.
  1. NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of elder abuse.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

1.BA with Gerontology certificate and experience with persons with memory loss, or equivalent work experiencerequired. Work experience may be substituted for certificate.

2.Five years’ experience supervising staff and volunteers.

3.Demonstrated aptitude for working with caregivers, seniors, disabled, and/or demented individuals.

4.Experience in working in adult day care, or in a facility serving persons with dementia preferred.

5.Certified in C.P.R. and First Aid (or willing to obtain); must pass fingerprinting and TB test prior to start of employment.

6.Able to pass examination and obtain the Food Safety Manager Certification.

7.Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the agency.

8.Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.

9.Passion and enthusiasm for the mission of CCDSR and its clients.

10.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

11.Bilingual (English, Spanish) preferred.

Physical Requirements

1.Requires ability to walk and stand frequently (up to 3-6 hours per day) with intermittent occasional sitting, bending, squatting and pulling/pushing.

2.Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day) required to lift and transfer clients from a sitting position to standing or another sitting location.

3.Occasionally may be required to carry items up to 10 pounds for distances up to 20 feet.
