CELEBRATING QUALITY TEXTS: A Book Project, linking to the UKLA Book Awards
This competition invites imaginative and creative class response to
one of the bookslonglisted for the 2013 UKLA book Award
Judges are looking for imaginative and creative class response to one of the 2013 UKLA longlisted books. The response can be presented in any way, e.g. through information technology, dance, art, drama, writing, music, spoken presentation or any combination of these. Schools or classes can collaborate or develop any other good ideas that would celebrate the book.
Thissubmission form needs to be:
- signed by your headteacher and emailed to Brenda Eastwood, General Manager UKLA (subject: submission form CQT)
- copied and included with your entry
Judges ask for entries thatgive a flavour of the work children have produced as a result of their engagement with the chosen book. The entry itself should be small enough to be posted in an A4 envelope. If presentation is digital, it should be no more than 2-3 minutes long.(The video should be saved in a format such as Quicktime, VLC, or wmv. If you have used editing software such as imovie or windows moviemaker, please make sure you have ‘finished’ the edit. This will ensure it can be played on any computer. Please test before submitting.)
All entries should be posted to arrive in March 2013, last date for submissions March 25th.

NB Schools that take part agree to:
a)give the entry to UKLA (the entry cannot be returned)
b)allow the work to be presented at the UKLA conference in July 2013.
c)consent to the video being shown in public, and confirm that this is covered by the school Internet safety policy.
- All entries will be acknowledged with certificates.
- Competition winners will be announced at the UKLA International Conference in July 2013.
- A selection of the work will be displayed at the conference.
