LongRange Plan 2013-2016

This three year long range plan was developed by the 2013-14 Carmichael Rotary Board of Directors and five Service Chairs.
Community Service
Expand focus on and involvement with Carmichael.
- Explore opportunities for continued partnering with the EffieYeawNatureCenter through education, youth involvement and/or supporting/maintaining a specific area at the Center.
- Reach out to partner with other community groups (i.e. the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, the Boy Scouts, the Farmer’s Market or the CarmichaelParks and Recreation Department).
- Research potential Carmichael Park District connections and potential projects.
- Continue support to Easter Seals, but restructure the financial portion through a 501c3.
- Continue current activities with Christmas Baskets, the Dictionary Program, Special Olympics and the Carmichael Fourth of July Parade.
International Service
Renew club international involvement.
- Identify a sister club project (potentially in Italy) or international medical, youth, water or social project for meaningful interaction and/or get involved with the Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE).
- Continue support to the Rotary International Foundation, Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY), PaulHarris Fellowships and specific grants.
- Get certified to participate in the Foundation grant process.
Vocational Service
Get more involved with Carmichael businesses and support of local vocational activities.
- Recognize local Carmichael business, professional, educational and government leaders through literacy projects, memberships or honorary memberships.
- Get involved with School Share with Del Campo High School, a middle school and AmericanRiverCollege.
- Share club member vocational experience within the club.
Youth Service
Focus on and expand youth involvement through more interaction with youth.
- Develop an Interact Club at Del Campo High School and support and grow.
- Start a Rotaract service club either at AmericanRiverCollege or in Carmichael and support and grow.
- Continue Vocational Service and Community Service scholarships, potentially enhancing the current $500 per scholarship funding ($2,000 total).
- Continue the Dictionary and Speech Contest programs.
Club Service
Continue and expand Club Service activities to maintain and grow membership to 40 active members, optimize the organizationand gain public recognition.
- Develop and implement a program for maintaining existing members and growing membership, to include a greeters program, a new member brochure and fireside chats; include new members in all activities.
- Develop and implement a focused public relations program to include an improved website and newsletter, new member brochure, news releases and the use of social media.
- Document and maintain the club history.
- Identify an appropriate meeting place that will attract members and allow for club growth.
- Make weekly meetings efficient and inviting with broad interest programs.
- Increase social activities.
- Achieve a 50% District Conference attendance.
- Continue and expand the Crab Feed into a larger facility.
- Focus on winning District awards.
- Establish a 501c3.
- Achieve a $25,000 financial reserve.
