Ponderosa PTA Meeting
January 9, 2017
Meeting Called to Order at 5:35pm
Board Members: Emilie Ayoub, President, Lucy Stredde, President, Nicole Jackson Vice President, Stacie Hartman Treasurer, Amy Gebhardt Secretary
In Attendance: Amy Gebhardt, Emilie Ayoub, Andrew Shearer, Haley Dreweck, Cindy Glass, Stacie Davis, Kim Bruno, Kyla Neuhalfen, Nicole Jackson, Lucy Stredde, Lisa Downer, Tara Hallahan, Dayna Campbell
Vice President’s Report: Nicole let us know that she has been researching the best way for staff members to request money from the PTA. She has reached out to other schools and PTA’s and found out that most schools have all money requests go directly through the Principal. Since we do not want all requests to go through Mrs. Smith, Nicole has decided that monies requested over $75 will go through Mrs. Smith before the PTA votes for it. After Mrs. Smith approves the request, all PTA members will be notified when the voting will be for said issue. Monies requested under $75 will go directly for the PTA for voting. To be able to vote on issues, members must have paid their dues 10 days before voting. Nicole will be sending out the new protocol to Ponderosa Staff.
No spring carnival update at this time, waiting for contact from Amanda from Kids Night Out. Save the Dates will go out next week.
Principal’s Report: Emilie informed us that Kandi could not be in attendance, but has been in contact with the district in regards to the new outdoor classroom. We have filed the paperwork and we hope that the classroom will be ready to be used in Spring 2017.
New Business:
Kyla: Meeting soon with Pandas Taking Action to discuss Spring Carnival. Nicole had an idea to have the 5th Graders take over the “Tiny Town” Preschool Section of the Carnival.
Global Committee Meeting: There was a Global Learning Article Featured in Educational Leadership Magazine, Kyla passed out copies for everyone. The Committee has finalized the Global Action Plan for their goals of this year and the budget for PTA money that has been set aside for them. Looking for a spring assembly. Handed out copies of the Global Action Plan for everyone to look at.
Spirit Wear: Website will be up for the rest of the school year.
King Soopers Cards: Did not hit our goal for the holiday season.
$56.20 donated to the PTA from Lisa Downer from Origami Owl Christmas Gifts for 6 teachers.
