I. Old Business

NRAO Picnic

1. Publicity for the upcoming picnic

-Send an email out to nmemploy (not sure we decided who will do this, Peggy?)

-Send out flyers for mailboxes on colored paper - Liz will do this

-We have decided not to do tickets, rather just have people sign up at the front desk

how many people they are bringing so we can get a rough head count.

2. Kid's entertainment

a. Shaved Ice machine - since it was a lot of trouble last year, and we have limited funds this year, we decided we not to get a shaved ice machine. Rather we'll have dry ice with popsicles that we buy.

b. Inflatable Rental - Liz will attempt to get information on whether this will be possible.

c. Water guns - purchase from Wal-Mart, these were very popular last year.

d. Someone needs to see if water is available for a water slide, if not, could the fire station help out?

3. Food/Condiments

a. Juan, and someone else (not sure who yet) will travel to Sam's Club in Albuquerque to buy drinks, desserts (cake, brownies), fruit (watermelon, strawberries, grapes), vegetables, chips, hotdogs, burgers, veggie burgers, condiments and other supplies.

b. Sonja will make the cole slaw

c. Liz will get the corn, and wrap in aluminum for the grill

d. Peggy, Natti, and anyone else who can help will cut fruit and vegetables

e. Juan will get the dry ice from Smiths Groceries for the popsicles

4. Other

a. Juan has reserved the box truck from Facio at the VLA for transporting all the supplies to the picnic grounds.

b. Juan will get keys from the city for the park, and make sure the electricity is turned on.

II. New Business

A. NRAO Christmas Party

Right now it looks like we will go with El Camino as the caterer for the event. However we will not go through them for desserts, since that adds $2.00 per person. Since we will not get our PRA money from AUI for the next fiscal year until October, we hope they will can wait for a deposit until that time.

B. Officer Elections

Elections for PRA officers was held. Results as follows:

Juan Cordova – Chairperson

Sonja Mendoza – Treasurer (replaces Michael Torres)

Peggy Perley - Secretary (Sonja will be backup secretary when Peggy can’t attend.

Juan, Peggy and Sonja will arrange with the bank to the paperwork to set up the check writing privileges

C. Note that we will have to make a Fiscal 08 and 09 budgets to submit to Skip Lagoyda inorder to receive our annual allotment of funds from AUI.

D. Raising prices on the vending machines at the VLA? Due to the increased costs of candy and chocolate, it wasdiscussed whether or not to raise prices at the VLA to $0.75 for a candy bar and $0.60 for all other snacks like chips and cookies. Prescilla notified us that Dave has alreadyraised prices to $0.65 per item.
