GENERAL RESPONIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS OF
THE ROY HIGH NHS CHAPTER OFFICERS
Leadership Responsibilities
1.Abide by the NHS Constitution.
2.Represent Roy High School. I understand that it is my responsibility to display a positive public image and promote the organization.
3.Maintain proper eligibility to represent Roy High (No more than 1 F, No I’s or U’s and no more than .75 attendance credit loss) and the chapter (3.7 or 3.5 AP standards).
4.Fulfill the duties of my office by following through with and completing assignments.
5.Be an example of an effective leader.
6.Plan and execute chapter activities.
7.Initiate and maintain communication with my advisor.
8.Work with other chapter officers and be a part of the team.
9.Attend all meetings, both school and chapter/presidency (two presidency meetings a month-one with advisor).
10.I recognize I must serve in only one leadership officer capacity at Roy High School. I may be a member of other clubs and organizations, but I must place NHS as my priority if I am chosen as an officer.
11.Attend the Club/Organization Officer Summer Retreat.
12.Attend ALL scheduled Chapter meetings and activities.
13. Attend ALL Chapter officer functions (i.e. officer meetings, leadership training).

SPECIFIC RESPONIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS OF
THE ROY HIGH NHS CHAPTER OFFICERS
THE PRESIDENT
Preside over meetings according to accepted rules of parliamentary procedure.
Appoint committees and serve on them as an ex-officio (non-voting) member.
Coordinate the activities of the chapter.
Represent the chapter in public relations and official functions.
THE VICE PRESIDENT (2)
Assume all duties of the president if necessary.
Develop the Activities and Leadership Committeesand serve as a voting member of committees. Assess progress toward meeting chapter goals.
Establish and maintain a chapter resource file for each committee.
THE SECRETARY/HISTORIAN
Prepare and post the agenda for each chapter meeting.
Prepare and present the minutes of each chapter meeting.
Place all committee reports in the designated area in the official NHS Chapter secretary's book.
Be responsible for chapter correspondence and publicity.
Maintain member application, attendance, and activity records.
Have on hand for each meeting:
1. Official NHS Chapter secretary's book including minutes of the previous meeting.
2. Copy of the all standing and special committees’ membership.
3. Official NHSConstitution and chapter bylaws.
THE TREASURER
Present monthly treasurer's reports at chapter leadership meetings.
Oversee all PO’s and reimbursements for the chapter.
Maintain a neat and accurate official NHS Chapter treasurer's book with all copies of PO’s and reimbursements.
Prepare and submit the membership roster and payment of dues to the advisor in cooperation with the secretary.
Serve as chairperson of finances on standing and fundraising committees.
