“Florida Breast Cancer Foundation Presents the

2012 Jacksonville Education/Advocacy Day and Shades of Pink Fundraiser”

Jacksonville, FL (February 6, 2012) - The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to announce it’s annual

“Jacksonville Education/ Advocacy Day and Shades of Pink Fundraiser” which will take place on Saturday, February 18th at WJCT Public Broadcasting Studios. The Jacksonville Education/Advocacy Day Conference will be from 9:00am – 4:00pm and is free and open to the general public but seating is limited so reservations are a must. This conference provides the community-at-large with the opportunity to hear about the latest cutting edge research from scientific grant recipients funded by monies from the Florida specialty End Breast Cancer license plate. The conference will offer educational sessions featuring breast cancer experts, researchers, and advocates, as well as informational community resource display tables. The Shades of Pink Fundraiser will be from 7:00pm – 10:00pm at the same location; tickets are $75 per person and include one drink and hor d’oeuvres, additional is CASH BAR. This annual event has been developed to recognize local Breast Cancer Champions who were nominated by their local peers, colleagues and community leaders through The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. The 2012 Jacksonville Education and Advocacy Day will be filled with informative programs and seminars on a variety of intriguing topics all focused around breast cancer. The conference will include presentations from Florida breast cancer specialists: Dr. Charles Burkett, Radiology Associates of Daytona Beach; Dr. Shahla Masood, FBCF Board Member and UF Shands Jacksonville; Dr. Stephen Grobmyer, UF Gainesville; Dr. Robert Carroll, UF Gainesville; Dr. Jason Rosenberg; Dr. Devanjan Sikder, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute; Sarah Thomas, Thomas Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy; Jeri Francouer, FBCF Education Chair; James Konschnik President CEO & of The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation; as well as keynote speaker State Representative Janet Adkins with Ann Fonfa and Tracy Leduc, FBCF Advocacy Co-Chairs.
