Australian Ambassador congratulates M3dicine on the launch of stethee, the world’s first ai enabled stethoscope system

Ambassador James Choi has welcomed the launch of ‘Stethee’, an Australian innovation and the world’s first wireless, artificially intelligent (AI) stethoscope.

Launched on 25 January, Stethee was designed by Australian medical device design and manufacturing company M3DICINE in collaboration with experts from MIT, the Mayo Clinic and Texas A&M University. The Stethee line includes three core products: the US FDA-approved Stethee Pro for medical and healthcare professionals, Stethee Vet for veterinarians and animal professionals, and Stethee Ai, developed specifically as an education and research tool.

M3DICINE has signed an MOU with Korea Telecom for the distribution of Stethee Pro into Korea and a number of developing countries for remote telemedicine projects. It also has an exclusive distribution agreement with Cargill Korea for the supply and distribution of Stethee Vet to veterinarians in South Korea.

Ambassador Choi highlighted the potential of this pioneering Australian product, noting its ability to be used for a wide variety of applications and strong prospects in the Korean market.

“Stethee exemplifies the transformational power of disruptive products that are emerging from the ‘fourth industrial revolution’. The Stethee products will provide a whole new level of diagnostic capability that will improve people’s lives.”

“As an enthusiastic runner, I can see the vast potential of a system that delivers accurate health data analysis in real-time. Stethee is a leap forward in technology that takes us from basic heart-rate monitoring to having an intelligent and sophisticated diagnostic assistant.”

Ambassador Choi noted that M3DICINE’s commercial links with Korea illustrated the strong capabilities that both Australia and Korea possess in medical technology and innovation.

“The partnership M3DICINE has formed with both Korea Telecom and Cargill Korea is a clear demonstration of the shared benefits of scientific collaboration. M3DICINE will join the growing number of exciting Australian companies whose presence is benefiting Korean consumers.”
