Univar is the largest worldwide Chemicals distributor with global sales above US$ 11,000 million/year, more than 8,800 employees and above 700 sites.

Position: Business Unit Director.

Report to the Latin-American President.

Responsible for the design, start-up and growth of the Basic Chemicals Solutions BU. Responsible of P&L and Global Accounts development.

Main Products: Chemicals and delivery solutions for water treatment , petrochemicals, refining, cellulose/paper, oil & gas, personal care, mining, textiles, food ingredients, pharma, bottling beverages and coatings.

Achievements: I reached US$ 17.5 million sales in 30 months, starting up from scratch, developing 50 new customers, 9 suppliers for 6 product lines.

I developed a team integrated by one Sales Manager, one Account Representative, and 3 logistics, purchases and customer service representatives. I developed dedicated logistics/distribution infrastructure in the second year.

ADS Mexicana (Jan 2013 - Apr 2014). (One year 4 months).

ADS is a North America company with global sales around 1,000 million/year devoted to produce piping systems and water management for Infrastructure and Telecom.

Position: Commercial Director.

Responsible for a US$ 70 million sales budget, marketing, regional distribution centers, and exports.

Achievements: I increased the sales in 20% in one year. I led the consolidation of DEPLAYUSA (acquisition),

I obtained certifications by the National Water Commission to expand markets. Staff: 4 sales managers and one exports manager.

Mexichem (1999- 2013) (14 years)

Mexichem is a leader in the chemical and petrochemical industry in Latin America, with more than 50 years of experience in the region and 27 years on the Mexican Stock Exchange. Its products are marketed worldwide and generate sales of more than US$ 5 billion annually.

Achievements: Have participated and contributed to the dynamic Mexichem’ s growth process from a local raw materials supplier in 1999, to a multinational integrated group, leader in its core. Have developed different management skills to reach strategic positions that involved relevant responsibilities.

I participated in the acquisition and consolidation of Grupo Primex (US$ 220 million), Petroquimica Colombiana (US$270 million), Quimir (US$ 45 Million), Amanco (US$ 660 million) and Plasticos Rex/Policyd.

Position: Managing Director (from Jan 2010 to Dec 2012)/ Mexichem Soluciones Integrales S.A. de CV. (formerly Amanco Mexico). I Reported to the CEO.

As General Director, I was responsible for the P&L and consolidation of three companies: Amanco Mexico, Tubos Flexibles and Plasticos Rex.

Main Products: Water Infrastructure Systems (piping, fitting and accessories) for retailers, Construction, Infrastructure and Agriculture-irrigation.

Staff: 4 Directors: Commercial, Operations, Financial and Supply Chain, 3 commercial managers, 6 plant managers, one R&H manager, 1,200 employees, 6 plants, 120 production lines (70 extruders, 50 injection machines), 2,000 KPI’s, 3,000 customers, + 20 distribution centers.

Achievements:

I increased the sales from US$ 100 to US$ 190 Million in 3 years, with US$ 23 millions of EBITDA,

I led a Business Reengineering focused on product differentiation and branding. (Project “Go to Market”)

Brand launch of “Amanco” in printed, TV and massive media, as well as P.O.P.

I executed an investment program for US$ 30 million focused on operational efficiency, installed capacity increase, marketing and new technologies launching (Wavin) for water management (Bi-oriented PVC “Biax”).

Position: Commercial Director (Sept 2002 – Jan 2010)
Reporting to the Chairman of the Board and Mexichem CEO/ Director

Main Products: Chlor-Vinyl chain: PVC Resins, Chlorine, Caustic Soda, Sodium Hypochlorite, Hydrochloric Acid, Industrial Salt, PS Blocks and PS films, PVC Compounds, and Plasticizers.

Regions: Mexico, USA, LATAM and Europe. (+ 3,000 customers)

Staff: 5 sales managers, 1 Export & Marketing manager, 1 General Manager/Mexichem Colombia.

As Commercial Director/Chemicals & Plastics, responsible for sales/EBITDA, marketing, strategic planning, regional distribution centers, strategic imports, and sales force optimization. Business deals with top government officials, Pemex, Secretary of Economy and CEO’s from other companies.

I was General Director for Mexichem Colombia (2004-2006), a manufacturing and trading operation with US $10 million sales, and 70 employees.

Achievements:

I reached sales for US$ 500 million with US$ 125 million of EBITDA, selling to +1,250 customers.

·  Increased the Chlor Alkali sales by 48% (2005 vs. 2004), 23% (2004 vs. 2003) and 17% (2003 vs. 2002), reaching sales record in 2005 (US$213 million).

·  Increased EBITDA by 163% (2005 vs. 2004), 220% (2003 vs. 2002) and 139% (2004 vs. 2003), reaching 41% EBITDA on sales in 2005.

·  I signed long term contracts with FEMSA/Heineken, Kuo, Procter, Anheuser Busch, Pemex, Innophos, Ingredion, Colgate, ADM, Amanco, Aliaxis, and distributors with an estimated annual value of US$ 130 million.
