ILA Summer Assignments

Incoming 7th grade

Over the summer you should keep a journal, and you will also read a book.

Journals:

You must make at least 5 journal entries over the summer and they must be at least one page long. The pages must be 81/2 by 11 inches, if your journal is smaller, they should be two pages long. If you decide to type your journals, they must be font 12, double- spaced with either Times New Roman or Arial font.

Some journal starters to help you are below, but you may wish to write about anything that you experienced over the summer break:

1.  What’s the most important thing you would like to do this summer?

2.  Summertime is great for the outdoors. Go for a walk. Write about the walk you went on.

3.  What is your favorite thing to do when you are outdoors in the summer?

4.  If you could go on a summer vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

5.  What is the funniest thing that you have ever seen?

7.  Tell about your favorite holiday. Explain why it is your favorite.

8.  Write a poem about what you think the next school year will be like.

9.  This is a list of things I like to do when I can’t watch television or play video games and why I like to do them.
