BACKGROUND
This post is central to the activities of the British Institute of Radiology, which is a membership organisation, a multidisciplinary society and a registered charity. Its mission is to aim to bring together all the professions in radiology and allied medical and scientific discplines to share knowledge, and educate the public, thereby improving the prevention and detection of disease and the management and treatment of patients.
JOB SUMMARY
To work in the Education Department to assist the Events Managerand education team in arrangingand delivering scientific events in London and across the UK, including online events and webinars, managing event registration process, contributingto promotional campaigns and website management, andmanaging general administrative duties for the education department.
KEY RESULT AREAS
  1. Scientific Events Assistance
To work under the supervision of the Events Manager in the organisation and delivery of the scientific educational events programme including webinars (online events). To manage the registration processand act as the main point of contact for queries via the internet and telephone.
To assist the eLearning team with the production and delivery of webinars and other online content, and the production and delivery of podcasts.
  1. Marketing Assistance
To support theEventsManager and education team, liaise with Special Interest Groups and branch regional committees on developing and co-ordinating events. To provide marketing assistance onpromotional campaigns,including the design, printing and distribution of marketing material and the updating of the website. To assist with social networking for the Education Department.
  1. Database management
To maintainthe database accurately and keep information up to date.To provide support to other team members to ensure all capable of maintaining/updating database.
  1. Administrative Duties
To perform mail merges, send out letters, liaise with speakers and prepare delegate packs for scientific events, be the main phone cover for the education department and provide onsite assistance during educational events, including the administrative duties for delivering the BIR webinar programme.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
  1. To ensure the department adheres to processes as defined in the Quality Management Systems Manual.
  2. To revise process documentation as requested ensuring all staff are aware of any updates and work to them.

Operational Management
To contribute to the BIR’s strategic plans, business and operational plans as requested, in particular the education strategy.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
He/she will ensure personal skills and knowledge is updated through attendance of appropriate internal and external training courses and seminars, ensuring their PDP is updated regularly.

To comply with the Institute’s health and safety policy and procedures and all statutory HSE regulations and health and safety laws. To comply with the BIR’s personnel practices and procedures.
