CKUMB Internship Description

The Campus Kitchen at the University of Massachusetts Boston (CKUMB), in partnership with the Management Achievement Program of the College of Management, is excited to offer an internship opportunity to a College of Management student. This internship will provide valuable working world experience and insight into non-profit work and the food service industry.

CKUMB is a part of The Campus Kitchens Project, a national network of student volunteers that works to rescue excess food to create meals for those in need. CKUMB opened in 2010 to provide meals for the Dorchester neighborhood.

By taking the initiative to run a community kitchen, students develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills, along with a commitment to serve their community, that they will carry with them into future careers.

CKUMB goes beyond providing meals by using food as a tool to promote poverty solutions, implement garden initiatives, participate in nutrition education, and convene food policy events. 2013 brings a focus on holistic health for all ages; from wellness workshops and SNAP outreach for Seniors to cooking classes for youth.
