10 / Current joint trenching agreement
In the past Actew was using NSW joint trenching agreement. The difference is in sanding and backfill.
TAMS understanding was that that industry was using ACT Agreement however, GS stated that LDA has been asked to comply with NSW agreement. GJ said it is a matter for the developer to resolve this directly with the utility authority. He also added that steps are being taken for TAMS to become a signatory for the ACT Agreement and when this happens TAMS will have more say on the agreement. / For information only
11. / Water Quality Ponds handover
GS asked about handover process of ponds. His concern was that ponds cannot be open for public until handover of soft landscape, however developers don’t install soft landscape until the majority of building activities is complete to avoid issues with excessive sediment.
GJ explained that developers cannot be responsible for builders damage and that ponds can be planted and handed over for TAMS to maintain.
GG also mentioned another issue in regards to ponds; ponds have to be attached to blocks for assessment.
GJ explained that the purpose of this is to make sure that developers complete the construction of ponds as blocks are bonded. Developer may choose to bond the pond and in this way disattach it from the blocks.
