S’more” News in Mrs. Eimen’s Campground of Learning
April 17, 2015
Greetings from the campground!
Studentsbegan chapter 8in math on Monday. This unit will consist of multiplying fractions by whole numbers. We are also continuing the practice of reciting multiplication facts. Please ask your student what table he/she is working on. Everyone should be close to nines. I could still use some help if you would like to listen to students, just let me know.
Students continued to create poetry as well as conduct research for their state report. Report expectations, outlines, and rubrics were handed out on Monday. I encourage the students to use the list of requirements as a checklist while putting their reports together. Class time will be given next week to continue to draw and label all the required information.
The study of fossils was completed this week. Students were allowed to use their text packets and any notes they had while they completed the assessment on fossils. You should be able to see you student’s graded test today (Friday).
Congratulations toEvan Benfield, Kylie Smith, andLucahEmme. They areour newest memberson the Wall of Fame this week! The class has earned fourteen tally marks for positive behavior. Woohoo! Keep up the great work 4A!!
Just in case you aredoing any spring cleaning, we will be holding a class auction at the end of next month. We are looking for donations of games, toys, stuffed animal, videos, CDs, costume jewelry, purses, decorative items, etc. that you may want to get rid of. These items do not have to be new. “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” Students are welcome to bring in donations at any time. We have had a few donations, but the more items we have, the more fun it will be for the students. Thank you so much for any help you can give me.
(Please see back for dates.)
