Principal’s Summary:
We have had a great time in November. With the holiday season swiftly approaching, Poston Butte Student Council hosted a movie night for our students to collect toys for the Pinal County Sheriff Toy Drive. We held a College Night for parents to meet with college representatives and learn about scholarship opportunities. The Florence and Poston Butte Dance Team joined together to present their fall dance concert performance. Our Varsity Football Team hosted and competed in their first play-off game. The Hospitality program swept their competition and took first through third place. The Culinary program took first place. Two teachers will be attending an Advance Placement workshop presented by the College Board on December 4th. These teachers will be receiving training on improving their techniques in AP classes as well as making connections with teachers across the state. Currently, 59 students have signed up to take the AP exams in May, covering U.S. History and English Literature & Composition. Bronco’s O.A.T.S. (Outstanding Academic Time Slot) has been going well, students are receiving small group instruction in intervention classes, and are becoming successful. We are also working hard to provide a quality education for every student in a clean, safe environment where students are proud to be a part of the student body. Thanks for the opportunity to serve.
