The shelters will be for local residents who have been flooding or storm damage and for anyone who lives in areas affected by the storm. ID should be presented on arrival at a shelter showing that you are from an affected area. Shelters will provide food, a safe place to sleep and support for those weathering the storm.

·  Shower facilities in East Stroudsburg Area

Both East Stroudsburg High Schools will be opening their doors to the community starting from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Students in grades 6-12 will be permitted to shower during an extended homeroom period tomorrow. Please bring your own towels and toiletries as none will be provided.

·  Hurricane Irene Relief Ride

When:Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 12 Noon to 6:30 p.m. ET

What:Individuals will get the unique opportunity to take a two-lap ride around “The Tricky Triangle” for a donation of $10, per car. Pocono Raceway will match the money raise and all proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross of the Poconos, Disaster Relief Fund.

Where:Pocono Raceway is located at 500 Long Pond Rd., Long Pond, PA 18334.Cars can access the infield by entering the Gate 1 Tunnel, located off of Long Pond Road. Once inside, they will follows signs to the Garage Area where their donation will be accepted and for staging to take to the track.

Additional Info: We will be accepting CASH or CHECKS (payable to Red Cross of the Poconos – and memo must read Hurricane Irene Disaster Relief). There is NO limit to the number of rides you are allowed to take, however, each ride will cost you $10, per car.
