TODAY'S MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES

The Cheerleading team placed first in the Open Invitational and Mini Conference competition on Wednesday at Liberty High School. The team also received an automatic bid to the Regional Competition.

On September 26, 2016 Students from Fauquier High School Automotive Program participated in the SkillsUSA Auto Services Contest at the Virginia State Fair. Fauquier Automotive Technology students finished in 1st and 4th place in a 10 School field. The team of : Luis Bendek and Cody Heyl finished in 4th place. The team of : Justin Bean and Waddell Bourgeouis took 1st Place. Congratulations to these students and to Mr. Freeman for yet another Fauquier Victory.

Nominations for Homecoming court for all classes are being accepted in the Main Office in the RED box on the counter. Fill out your nomination for the court and put it in the box!!!! All nominations should be done by the end of the day on Monday, October 3rd.

GUEST SLIPS AND HOMECOMING TICKET SALES

If you are bringing a guest to Homecoming who is not enrolled at Fauquier High School, you are required to complete a Request for Guest Slip available in the Main Office are available before school, during lunch shifts, and after school until 3 p.m.The deadline for completing a Request for Guest Slip is TODAY at 3:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Tickets will be on sale in the Finance/Attendance Office during the following dates and times:

DISCOUNTED TICKET SALES – $15.00 per ticket

Monday, October 3 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 4 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

REGULAR PRICED TICKET SALES – $20.00 per ticket

Wednesday, October 5 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 6 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Friday, October 7 – before school and during all three lunch shifts (no after-school sales on this date).

If you have completed the Dance Rules and Expectations Form for the 2016-17 school year, you will not be required to complete another form. Otherwise, you must submit a form when you purchase your ticket. Dance Rules and Expectations Forms are available in the Main Office.

Attention seniors. The Senior Government Internship program currently has a few opportunities available for the upcoming spring term. Currently, positions are available with the School Board Office, John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District. In addition, the program has expanded to include the PATH Foundation and the Mason Enterprise Center. If you are interested in gaining valuable work and life experiences with these organization, please reach out to your guidance counselor for additional information.

The Zoo shirts have arrived! Students who ordered Zoo shirts may pick them up before school until 7:25 and after school beginning at 2:35 in the Falcon Room today..

Anime Clubwill meet after school today from 2:45-4:00 in room 602 in the Cube. All are welcome. This week: Anime Dance Week! Rain activity: Kaiju Week Part Two!

Hall Decorating for Homecoming is today after school until approximately 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to help!!!!!

MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES

DECA is walking for Diabetes on October 1st. Anyone is welcome to join us. To support our walk, DECA will be selling paper shoes in Mrs. Lynch and Ms. Chappell’s rooms (612 & 608 in the cube), and in the school store during lunch in the old cafeteria. Shoes are $1 and all money will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to fund diabetes research. Please come see us this week and next week, buy a shoe, decorate it if you like and help find a cure for diabetes! We would love to have you walk with us on October 1st too! Lots of food and fun!!!

NHS OFFICERS WILL MEET ON MONDAY, OCT. 3 AT 7:00 AM IN ROOM 566.

National Honor Society members will meet on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5 at 2:45 in the old cafeteria.

SADD will be holding a meeting after school on Monday, October 3rd from 2:45 to 3. New members always welcome.

The ASVAB test will be given on October 4th at 7:45 am (Falcon Room). Please sign up in the guidance department. The ASVAB test will assess your strengths, challenges, and interests to give you guidance as to which careers may be BEST FOR YOU!

Let’s talk swimming!There will be a swim team interest meeting next Thursday, October 6th, at 2:45 in the Falcon Room. If you are unable to make this meeting, please see Ms. Cerra in Guidance.

Any student interested in attending the free Computer Science Day at VCU October 22 may stop by Room 410 to get registration information. Members of the Computer Coding Club who missed last Tuesday’s meeting are asked to stop by Mrs. Violett’s room to pick up club registration information. The next meeting is Tuesday, October 11.
