INTERNSHIP REPORT

The student intern is required to submit a typewritten final report to the SIM within 1 week upon completion of the programme or as advised by the SIM. As a guide, the recommended length of the report is between 1,500 to 1,800 words. The report should include the following sections:

1.Industry and Company Overview

Highlight the business and industry sector in which the Company operates, the key business activities and geographical operations of the Company. (You may attach the organisational chart and relevant business process flowchart with the consent of the organisation).

2.Training and Work Scope

Briefly describe your duties, responsibilities and key contributions. You may also wish to highlight special projects (if any) that you handled during internship.

3.Training Experience Analysis

Briefly explain how you applied the knowledge and skills learnt in NYP during Internship. Briefly describe the benefits gained, challenges encountered, and how you handled diversity during Internship.

4.Recommendations for Improvement

Suggest how work efficiency/productivity of your role/overall operations of the organization could be enhanced or improved.

5.Conclusion and Overall Summary

Summarise the key learning points and value-add you have obtained from the Internship.

In addition, please prepare TWO (2) Annexes, each not more than 200 words, to your internship report. These are:

Annex 1 - Education & Career Guidance

a)A short description of THREE (3) jobs (job title and role) within the business or industry sector in which your company operates which you might be interested in pursuing.

b)How your personal characteristics (i.e. your interests, skills, experience, values and beliefs) make you suited for the jobs you have identified in part (a).

c)The education, training and skills that you will need to acquire in order to perform the jobs you have identified in part (a).

Annex 2 – Portfolio

a) Identify and describe TWO (2) job-related skills which you have acquired during internship. Examples of jobs could be (but not limited to) preparing an advertisement or posting, conducting a survey as part of research, creating a product display, running an event, etc.

b)Describe the projects or tasks that illustrate how you applied the job-related skills acquired in part (a). Where possible, attach samples of your work (eg in the form of photographs and print outs etc) in the portfolio which provide evidence that you have the two identified skills.

Marks will be deducted for late submission of the internship report.
