NATIONAL PANEL –2016-2017 ANNUAL AWARDS

CRITERIA & NOMINATION FORM

Nominations are called for the 2016-2017 Softball New Zealand Annual Awards.

The National Panels of Scorers, Umpires & Black & White Sox Head Coaches are asked to consider suitable nominations eventual winners for the prestigious annual awards. In a departure from previous years, the winners of the awards below will be decided on by your national groups.

The qualifying period for the annual awards is 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2017.

Nominations for the category of Umpire of the Year are to be provided to the Softball New Zealand Umpire in Chief by 1 July 2017

Winners will be invited to attend the SNZ AGM for the award presentation.

Scorer of the Year – Criteria
Significant achievement in the year of the award
Well respected and a high level performer
Supports and represents the SNZ scorer programme
Has honesty and integrity
Active scorer and/or scorer administrator
Selected by the SNZ Scorers Association
Umpire of the Year – Criteria
Significant achievement in the year of the award
Well respected and a high level performer
Supports and represents the SNZ umpire’s programme
Has honesty and integrity
Active field umpire and/or umpire administrator
Selected by the SNZ National Umpiring Staff / Player Awards - Criteria
Significant achievement in the year of the award
Male Player of the Year
Male Pitcher of the Year
Male Emerging Player of the Year
Female Player of the Year
Female Pitcher of the Year
Female Emerging Player of the Year
Selected by the NZ Black & NZ White Sox Head Coaches.
International Coach of the Year – Criteria
Significant achievement in the year of the award
Has game knowledge and is a skilled tactician
Excellent communicator
Motivator
Develops good players as good people
Has respect and strong values
Has honesty and integrity
Selected by the Honours Committee
