SUMMARY
Summons juries for district courts, county courts and justice of the peace; and updates and makes copies of jury lists for judges and attorneys, assists the District Clerk in calling, qualifying, and paying jurors; balances jury pay boxes and donation boxes; report for state refund; handles all delinquent tax cases and procedures involved; answers phone and waits on the counter; balances cash drawer and goes to the bank; head passport clerk contact person.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Handles delinquent tax cases for both courts and all legal procedures connected with tax cases; prepares folders, images and files tax cases
Answering telephone, including providing information, transferring calls, and taking messages;
Makes copies of various legal documents;
Pulls jury lists for district courts, county courts and justice of the peace, prepares and mails out list
Updates jury lists and takes exemptions and qualifications off of panel, monitors list daily, makes copies of lists and questionnaires for the attorneys and judges on the days the juries are to report;
Prepares and enters employer orders, files new Attorney General Cases and gives to deputy of that court
Sorts mail for the office, posts child support payments and mails checks to custodial parent
Receives and processes passport applications, this desk monitors all updates on passports and informs all of the office;
This desk takes a turn in balancing the cash drawer for the day and going to the bank.
Answers all incoming phone calls and either handles the call or directs the call, handles the counter traffic (either directs of takes care of)
Helps with civil desks when caught up

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduation or its equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE OF
Standard office practices and procedures; department policies and procedures; and court procedures and legal terminology.
SKILL/ABILITY TO
Operate computers, including Microsoft Office Word software; understand and follow instructions; perform basic mathematical calculation; balance accounts; write letters and memos; reason and interpret information, exercise independent judgment; work independently, operated standard office equipment, write telephone messages; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, judges, attorneys, and the general public.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Trained and Certified with Texas web Cases (Attorney General program)
Must be bondable
