Preliminary finding
2/19/2010 @ 10:30: During cold test, the antenna adjustment appeared to be not adjusting properly. Upon further investigation, it appears that the antenna adjustment rod is not locked in.
VERIFY PROBLEM:
We will break cold test configuration, remove the waveguide assembly, install the oven box, and transport coupler test assembly to bldg.6 clean room. Connect vacuum pump to FH07 VCR purge port. Pump down to equalize vacuum pressure on both sides of the gate valve. Open gate valve and back fill with filtered nitrogen to ambient pressure. With nitrogen purge flowing, remove antenna adjustment rod. Inspect adjustment rod, the mechanism that it locks into, and associated components. REPORT FINDINGS. If everyone is in agreement, then use a new copper gasket and do particle counts on parts to be reinstalled. Reinstall antenna rod, verify that it is locked into the proper configuration, torque hardware. Connect FH07 to the helium leak detector and do a helium leak check. If the leak check passes continue pumping down FH07 until the ion pumps can be activated. Prepare couplers for bake out. Transport to End Station B. Install couplers into the oven and start initial purge, connect ion pumps and thermocouples. Note date time and nitrogen flow rate. After sufficient purge start the bake out process. Record bake out data. Reinstall waveguide assemblies, and prepare for cold testing.

Proposed Corrective / Preventiveactions
CorrectiveAction : The antenna rod was not engaged. Inspected all associated components and surfaces. There were no signs of damage or unusual wear. Reassembled with new gasket. Verified rod engagement. Did a helium leak check, pumped down the chamber. Transported couplers to End Station B to do the bake out process. After the bake out process is complete we will reschedule the cold test.Preventive action; Put a step in the procedure for verification of antenna rod engagement.
