Our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program teaches basic life support procedures. EMT is the entry-level certification for EMS. EMTs work alongside paramedics in the delivery of pre-hospital care.

Successful completion of this program entitles the student to sit for the National Registry examination and apply for the certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

EMT is a program offered in conjunction with Tarrant County College Northeast. The class will take place at the HCTC and is taught by TCC and HCTC instructors. All questions regarding program requirements and costs can be forwarded to:

Your student will also need a stethoscope, pen light, safety glasses, and blood pressure cuff. These also vary in price. (You don’t need to spend a lot of money on the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff). / Bookstores or Amazon

EMS ISD provides daily transportation between the HCTC and the home campuses. Students may drive personal vehicles to and from HCTC with a 1.) Signed parent/guardian transportation form and 2.) Proof of automobile insurance on file at HCTC. HCTC will issue no - cost parking passes after receiving both documents.
