Data Set Description: The data set is a list of McDonald’s, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wendy’s, and Dunkin Donuts locations in Worcester County.
Objective/Purpose: The purpose of this data is to use calculated annual drive-thru car emissions from one establishment and extrapolate it to account for total emissions of the five most numerous fast food establishments in Worcester County using the information in this list.

Data Verification by HERO project: Telephone calls (or firsthand observations of the establishments) were made to randomly selected locations outside of Worcester and all Worcester locations to verify addresses and existence of drive-thru window operations.

Limitations of the Data:
Telephone calls or direct observations were made to all of the fast food establishment locations within Worcester to ascertain whether or not they operated drive-thru windows. However, calls were placed to a random sampling of ten percent of the locations outside of Worcester to garner this information. Therefore, extrapolation of the data assumes that all of the fast food establishments outside of Worcester operate drive-thrus, since all of the random establishments that were contacted employed these operations. As a result, some establishments may be included that do not in fact operate drive-thru windows. It is also possible that some fast food establishments exist that are not listed in the business directories.
