Dale E. Beatty, RN, MS

Vice President, Patient Services, Chief Nursing Officer – Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights, Ill.)
Mr. Beatty demonstrates a patient-focused approach in healthcare redesign initiatives and has been instrumental in developing synergistic processes so that the physical environment and technology infrastructure integrate to support patient care and the care delivery teams to produce organization.


As a recipient of the Veteran’s Administration’s National Health Professional Scholarship, Mr. Beatty relocated Ohio to Chicago to work as a staff nurse for the Chicago Lakeside Veterans Administration. He subsequently became director for the Cardiac Services, Emergency/Trauma Services, Surgical Services and Medical/Oncology Services departments of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mr. Beatty later served as vice president and chief nurse executive for SSM Healthcare/St. Francis Hospital and Health Center. During his tenure, SSM Healthcare was the first healthcare organization to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Mr. Beatty is a member of the American Organization for Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau honor society. Mr. Beatty serves on the nursing advisory boards for McKesson Corporation and Gannett Healthcare Group's Nursing Spectrum and is a member of the NRC Picker Patient-Centered Care Institute's editorial board and the board of directors of the Illinois Coalition for Nursing Resources and Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
Beth A. Brooks, PhD, RN, FACHE

Dr. Brooks is a senior healthcare executive with expertise in recruitment, employee engagement, advertising and internal communications, as well as hospital and academic administration. She has extensive experience in employment marketing, working with healthcare employers across the country on award-winning advertising, branding and marketing programs.
Her doctoral research focused on organizational behavior and the development of Brooks’ Quality of Nursing Worklife Survey™. Dr. Brooks speaks nationally and internationally on healthcare employee recruitment, engagement and evidence-based recruitment and retention. Her work appears in numerous peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Brooks serves on the faculty in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Academy of Management and the American College of Healthcare Executives, where she is a fellow.

Susan Campbell, RN, MSN, NEA-BC

Senior Vice President-System Chief Nursing Officer - OSF HealthCare System (Peoria, lll.)

Susan Campbell has 33 years of experience in the hospital/healthcare setting, particularly in system performance management, strategic planning and fiscal operations.

Ms. Campbell is a charter member of the Illinois Center for Nursing, established in 2006 to promote a professional nursing workforce to meet growing healthcare needs in Illinois. Prior to her role as chief nursing officer (CNO) for OSF HealthCare System, she served as the CNO of Saint Francis Medical Center, a 600-bed tertiary academic medical center. She successfully led the organization to its first Magnet designation and subsequent re-designation.

Ms. Campbell has spoken nationally on improving quality outcomes and piloting new care models.

Marjorie A. Maurer, MSN, RN, NEA-BC

President - IONL

Vice President of Operations and Chief Nurse Executive – Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital (Downers Grove, Ill.)

Ms. Maurer has served in leadership positions throughout her career, including roles in nursing administration, quality, risk management and education. At Advocate, she helped create the Nurse Advocacy Council, which educates the system's more than 8,000 staff nurses on nursing and healthcare-related legislative issues and engages them in influencing public policy. Ms. Maurer also has led efforts to establish a systemwide electronic medical record and identify strategies to navigate the ongoing nursing shortage. Her work helped obtain a $4 million federal grant to forge a formal partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing to strengthen nursing services in several Chicago communities.

Ms. Maurer is also a member of the national Jesuit honor society, Alpha Sigma Nu, Sigma Theta Tau, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the IHA Workforce Taskforce and the advisory board for Gannett Healthcare Group's Nursing Spectrum.

Connie Yuska, RN, MS

Vice President, Clinical Services - Medline Industries, Inc. (Chicago, Ill.)

Connie Yuska is a senior healthcare executive with expertise in nursing administration, strategic planning, program development and marketing of healthcare products and services. Ms. Yuska previously held the position of chief nursing officer at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago and was also a senior executive with Northwestern Memorial Home Health Care, Inc. She also has served as president of her national nursing specialty organization, The Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Nurses, Inc.
