RE: Workshop Notice Regarding Joint Utility Weatherization Installation Standards and Policy and Procedures Standardization Project

Pursuant to the December 29, 1999, March 22, 2000, and September 11, 2000 Assigned Commissioner Rulings and Commission Decisions 00-07-020 and 00-09-036, the Public Utility Commission’s Energy Division will hold a workshop to facilitate public input on the Joint Utility Report that will be filed with the Commission on October 26, 2000.[1] It is Energy Division’s understanding that the October 26, 2000 report will address consistent statewide gas appliance testing policies and procedures, ceiling insulation level guidelines, eligibility of master-metered customers, and eligibility of evaporative coolers for rentals. Because the purpose of this workshop is just to facilitate public input to the Joint Utilities, Energy Division will not be issuing a workshop report.

On October 19, 2000, SDG&E will mail a copy of the Joint Utility Report to each member of the R.98-07-037 and A.99-07-004 service lists. Additionally, on October 19, 2000, an electronic copy of the draft report will be posted on the Low Income Advisory Board Website ( and provided electronically via the membership. The process for getting public input will follow the guidelines of allowing equal time for each party to comment and then a round-robin discussion of issues will be immediately held. Hardcopies of the draft report will be provided at the meeting.
