Congratulations! As a new employee of Hallmark, Inc. your first job is to design a Valentine’s Day card that will take card shops by storm . . . people will be lined up 20 deep to buy your card . . .

Directions:

1.  Choose an audience for your card (Mother, Sweetheart, Child, etc.)

2.  Write a love poem – your poem must contain at least two examples of figurative language (metaphor, simile, personification, etc.)

3.  Design your card. Be creative! Your card should be visually appealing.

4.  Turn your card in for publishing on February 13, 2006.
