Congratulations! As a new employee of Hallmark, Inc. your first job is to design a Valentine’s Day card that will take card shops by storm . . . people will be lined up 20 deep to buy your card . . .
Directions:
1. Choose an audience for your card (Mother, Sweetheart, Child, etc.)
2. Write a love poem – your poem must contain at least two examples of figurative language (metaphor, simile, personification, etc.)
3. Design your card. Be creative! Your card should be visually appealing.
4. Turn your card in for publishing on February 13, 2006.
Sample Love Poetry Idea: Come to your senses! Think about love and experience it with all five senses. Write a line that tells what color it is. Then write some other lines to describe love that uses just one of the senses in each line (taste, smell, sight, sound, and feel).
