I. CALL TO ORDER
At 1:09 p.m. the Board Chair, Dr. Wanda Eastman called the April 12, 2012 regular meeting of the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board to order.
II. ROLL CALL

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to approve the agenda as amended. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
IV. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
September 16, 2011
Ms. Louise, Donahe, LD made a MOTION to approve the minutes of the September 16, 2011 Regular Meeting as amended. Ms. Elizabeth Carling SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL.
V. NEXT MEETING DATES
Next meeting will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012, in Albuquerque, NM at the Regulation and Licensing Department in the Main Conference Room

1. Election of Officers:

Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Wanda Eastman, PhD, RD, LD as Chair of the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board. Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL
b. Vice Chair
Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Paula West, LD as Vice Chair of the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board. Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL
c. Secretary/Treasurer
Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM as Secretary/Treasurer of the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL

Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to ratify licenses for Licensed Dietitian and Provisional Dietitians. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL.
4. Review Application
Gary Collins – issuance of license
After review credentials, Mr. Collins does not meet the requirements for licensure.
5. Ordering Writing Privileges
Informational purposes only. Ms. Paula West, LD will review the scope of practice and discuss at next board meeting.
VII. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Chair: I will hear a motion for closure of the meeting to enter into Executive Session.
Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION that the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board this meeting in order to enter into Executive Session to discuss the items listed in the agenda. Pursuant to Sections 10-15-1.H 1 of the Open Meetings Act authorizing closed sessions for matters related to issuance, suspension, renewal, revocation of a license. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONEDED the motion
Chair: Would the Administrator take a roll call vote to enter into Executive Session

Chair: The motion is approved by a unanimous approval. Let the record show that at 2:00 p.m. the Board entered into closed session and the recorder has been turned off.
Back in Open Session
Let the record show that the recorder is back on. The New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board is back in open session. The time is 2:12 p.m Pursuant to 10-15-1 H of the Open Meetings Act the matters discussed in the closed meeting were limited only to the items listed in the motion.
A. Renewal for Consideration
Miriam Simmons
Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to approve Ms. Miriam Simmons renewal. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL.
VIII. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Kristen Crosby, Liaison for the New Mexico Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics spoke of the recent events the association has been involved with.
IX. ADJOURNMENT
There being no other business to come before the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board, Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 2:30 p.m. Ms. Elizabeth Carling DDS SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
