Chronic lateness will result in after-school detentions. Completing a test and/or a science lab is not an excuse for being late to class and will not be accepted as such.
- Missing class —It is your responsibility to notify me in advance of your need to be excused, not anyone else’s. You are responsible for all work missed and for homework assignments. It is in your best interest to complete work ahead of time if possible.
- Behavior — I treat my students with respect, and I expect it in return. This also applies to your classmates. I do try to keep a familiar and open atmosphere in the classroom with a good sense of humor and friendliness. Do not take advantage of this by mistreating people for the sake of trying to be funny.
- Seating — Seats will be assigned. This class will include both small and large group discussions, so you should know everyone on a first name basis.
- Makeup work—It is your right to be able to makeup work when legitimately excused; it is your responsibility to adhere to the student handbook procedure for making the work up. Students may also inquire about missing work at the end of the school day; I am here until 3pm or later by appointment.
- Grading----I calculate grades using a system of total earned points divided by total possible points to equal a percentage.
- Signing Out—It is your right to expect lavatory and health suite privileges (emergencies only); it is your responsibility not to abuse this right. You must sign your name, destination and time out in the sign-out book and write the time in when you return.
