Membership Application

Member membership is open to fire protection organizations from Countries generally recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. These countries include, but are not limited to, Afghanistan, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kiribati, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands,Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Zealand, Niue, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor, Tonga, Turkey, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Vietnam.

Member membership is also available to Arabian Peninsula fire protection organizations from Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, The United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia

A fire protection organization whose purpose is that of advancing the cause of fire safety and who meets the below criteria may be admitted as a member of CFPA-Asia.

Member membership is bestowed on organizational entities, and not on individuals.

The primary objective of the Member’s organization shall address fire safety and associated matters.

The member organization shall either be:

(a) Recognized as a primary fire safety organization of a country by the national insurance organizations of that country;

Or

(b) Recognized as the primary fire safety organization of a country by the national government of that country;

Or

(c) Generally accepted as the principal national organization for fire safety in that country.

Members may be asked to pay an annual contribution, the amount of which will be as approved by the General Assembly.

Members must be non-political in their internal, national and international activities.

Members must not be wholly sponsored by any fire trade lobby, nor represent any fire-related company.

Members must be established with the prime aim of advancing the science of, and to improve the methods for, the protection of persons and property on land, sea or air against fire and other risks and the prevention of such risks.

Members must be a non-profit company with Articles of Association defining their aims and objects and setting out its legal status within the Companies Act of the country of origin.

Members must agree to abide by the CFPA-Asia Bylaws and participate in the activities, aims and objectives.
