Processional Hymn 1

All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and with us sing: alleluia, alleluia! Thou burning sun with golden beam, thou silver moon with softer gleam, O praise him, O praise him, Alleluia! alleluia! alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong, ye clouds that sail in heaven along, O praise him, alleluia! Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice; ye lights of evening, find a voice: O praise him, O praise him, Alleluia! alleluia! alleluia!

And all ye men of tender heart, forgiving others, take your part: O sing ye, alleluia! Ye who long pain and sorrow bear, praise God and on him cast your care: O praise him, O praise him, Alleluia! alleluia! alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless, and worship him in humbleness: O praise him, alleluia! Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son, and praise the Spirit, three in one: O praise him, O praise him, Alleluia! alleluia! alleluia!

Welcome and Call to Worship

Opening Prayer

Praise Hymn 310 (Common Praise)

Sing praise to God who reigns above, the God of all creation, the God of power, the God of love, the God of our salvation. With healing balm my soul is filled and every faithless murmur stilled: to God all praise and glory.

The Lord is never far away, but, through all grief distressing, an ever present help and stay, our peace and joy and blessing. As with a mother’s tender hand, God gently leads the chosen band: to God all praise and glory.

Thus, all my gladsome way along, I sing aloud your praises, that all may hear the grateful song my voice unwearied raises. Be joyful in the Lord, my heart; both soul and body bear your part: to God all praise and glory.

Let all who name Christ’s holy name give God all praise and glory; let all who own his power proclaim aloud the wondrous story! Cast each false idol from its throne, for Christ is Lord and Christ alone: to God all praise and glory.

Leader: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

PEOPLE: AND ALSO WITH YOU.

Leader: Almighty God,

PEOPLE: to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of Confession:

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Absolution

Priest: The peace of the Lord be always with you.

PEOPLE: AND ALSO WITH YOU.

Collect of the Day: (said together)

Merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

My God accept my heart this day, and make it always thine, that I from thee no more may stray, no more from thee decline.

Before the Cross of him who died, behold, I prostrate fall; let every sin be crucified, and Christ be all in all.

Anoint me with thy heavenly grace, and seal me for thine own; that I may see thy glorious face, and worship near thy throne.

Let every thought, and work, and word to thee be ever given; then life shall be thy service, Lord, and death the gate of heaven.

Sermon: The Rev. Canon Phil Bristow

The Apostles' Creed: (said together, standing)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Hymn 531 (Common Praise)

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life, say to the Lord: "My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!"

REFRAIN: And he will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you, and famine will bring you no fear: under his wings your refuge, his faithfulness your shield...refrain.

You need not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day; though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come...refrain.

For to his angels he's given a command to guard you in all of your ways; upon their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone...refrain. And hold you, hold you in the palm of his hand.

Sung Prayer over the Gifts:

All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee. Amen.

On Bended Knee

On bended knee I come, with a humble heart I come, bowing down before Your holy throne. Lifting holy hands to You, as I pledge my love anew, I worship You in spirit, I worship you in truth; make my life a holy praise unto You.

On bended knee we come, with a humble heart we come, bowing down before Your holy throne. Lifting holy hands to You, as we pledge our love anew, we worship You in spirit, we worship you in truth; make our lives a holy praise unto You. Make our lives a holy praise unto You. He Leadeth Me

Choir: I cannot tell, O Lord, why Thou shouldst lead me. I am so undeserving of thy care; yet in that knowledge I shall rest contented, nor burdened be with anxious thought or fear.

He leadeth me – what more could I desire? Or could some other thought bring deeper peace? No – that assurance shall my spirit strengthen and from disturbing doubts give sweet release.

Women: 2. I cannot tell, O Lord, how Thou art leading. Thy ways I often fail to understand, but this I know, Thy great eternal purpose, though unseen now shall be as Thou hast planned.

All: He leadeth me – then ever let me follow with steps unwavering and a faith ne’er dim. Nor let me turn aside to my own choosing but simply, safely trust my all to him.

Men: 3. I cannot tell, O Lord, where Thou art leading. The path that lies ahead I cannot see, nor need I know what shall be mine tomorrow; thy love can only choose the best for me.

All: His eyes can see beyond the far horizon, His love is like the ocean deep and wide. His wisdom knows the path that leads to blessing; Then let Him be my Captain and my Guide.

All: He leadeth me – O how my heart rejoices that I have God Himself to be my friend. Then let me praise Him through the mist and shadow; He’ll lead to lasting sunshine at the end.

Choir: He’ll lead to lasting sunshine at the end!

Be Still And Know That I Am God

Be still and know that I am God. [Repeat 3 times]

I am the Lord that healeth thee…

In thee, O Lord, I put my trust…

Be still and know that I am God…

Prayer After Communion:

Leader: All your works praise you, O Lord.

PEOPLE: And your faithful servants bless you.

Gracious God we thank you for feeding us with the body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ. May we, who share his body, live his risen life; we, who drink his cup, bring life to others, we, whom the Spirit lights, give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so that we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Blessing (followed by sung “Amen”)

Recessional Hymn: To God Be The Glory

To God be the glory, great things He hath done, so loved He the world that He gave us His Son, who yielded His life, an atonement for sin and opened the life-gate that all may go in.

CHORUS: Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice. O come to the Father, through Jesus, the Son and give Him the glory, great things He that done.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, to every believer the promise of God. The vilest offender who truly believes that moment from Jesus a pardon receives...CHORUS.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, and great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; but purer and higher and greater will be our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see...CHORUS.

The Dismissal:

Leader: Go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.

People: Thanks be to God.
