Checklist of Awards Criteria: You must include all of the following to be eligible for the award.

  1. At least one person from agency must be a CWEA member; proof of membership is required.
  2. Project must have been implemented in the last two years. Each effort can be nominated only once.
  3. Awards are for individual projects, not entire programs.
  4. Effort should reach a broad audience and be directed at the general public.
  5. Project should be broadly applicable to other public education efforts and should be easy for other groups or individuals to implement and should make creative use of available resources.
  6. Biographical or background info, including how the individual or group became involved in the activity.
  7. Provide a narrative description of the project, program or effort. State the achievements in the program, quantify results if possible, in no more than three written pages.

Local Section Instructions

  1. No more than one nomination for the Community Engagement & Outreach Committee Project of the Year award may be submitted by each Local Section as their Local Section Winner. Submittal of more than one nomination will invalidate that Local Section’s entry.
  2. The CWEA Community Engagement & Outreach Awards are coordinated by the CWEA Community Engagement & Outreach Committee. The team is comprised of the Awards Subcommittee Chair, Committee Chair, and equal representation from the Northern and Southern regions.
