INTRODUCTION.
SpringForest Security Services, founded in 2009, was established by passionate and committed service – orientated individuals who identified a need for a more focused, caring approach to provide the Best security service in The Pursuit of Permanent client Satisfaction.
There by achieving long term viability although Spring Forest Security Services will positioned to continue on the path of steady growth that characterizes its business at present ‘such growth is highly steeped in the well-entrenched relationships with the predominantly private sector client base.
This in itself presents a tremendous advantage for Spring Forest Security Services in terms of opportunities that exist in extending its market and profit margins even further.
For the past year we have successfully partnered with clients such as Schools in Eersteriver, Kraaifontein and Atuba Constructions.

However, at Spring Forest Security Services, the word’vision’is an important fact in our daily operations as we are a Service Orientated Company in the “On Demand “domain of the Security industry with sound Principles and Beliefs.
SpringForest Security Services has identified their “Vision “for the future to meet their long term and short term aims and objectives as a service provider within the Security industry of South Africa.
MISSION STATEMENT
To establish sound business relations between Spring Forest Security Services and our clients based on key element such as Trust, integrity, Professionalism, Knowledge and Mutual Financial Benefits that will result in long term business association in the form of contractual agreements which will be governed by the key elements above ‘this will establish a Healthy and Professional working relationship between our Clients and Spring Forest Security Services.
In doing so, it is the Vision of Spring Forest Security Services that the company can and will contribute via sound employment equity and social responsibility programs toward restoration of fair trade with PDI’s (Previous Disadvantage Individuals) and SMME’s (Small Medium Management Economic Enterprises) within South Africa in which we at Spring Forest so strongly believe.
Our social responsibility towards communities we serve is of utmost importance.
MANAGEMENT TEAM.
CEO: AUBREY MARTIN.
Martin was the founding member of Spring Forest Security Services and has a passion for service and particular security service.
He was in the employment of Grey Security Service for 18 years and joined Telkom due to a better job opportunity.
Martin loves his family and also joins the Reservist Corps (SAPS) to minimize crime in his community and surrounds. Martin has completed the Security Officers Board Accreditation Levels E to A during 1996.
Martin currently heads Spring Forest Security Services as the Chief Executive Officer.
LIASON OFFICER: JAPIE SWARTZ
Japie join the City Council in the year 1968 and progress from an Animal Control Officer to a Manager of the Law Enforcement / Security department at Tygerberg SAPS structure.
He also attends various meetings such as joint operations meetings with East Metropol Sector SAPS, Animal Control, Unauthorized Structures, and Security in general.
Japie comes with a strong back ground in Municipal Public Safety of South Africa, Commissioner of Oath, and City of Cape Town Ward Forum member.

We pride ourselves on committing to a partnership with our clients. We strive to achieve our client’s goal and thereby create a trustworthy long term relationship. We foster lasting relationships by:
- Having our directors / senior management visit our sites on a daily basis.
- Attending clients ‘weekly / monthly operational meetings.
- Conducting weekly contract manager meetings.
- Communicating daily with contract managers.
- Having regular meetings with staff on sites.
- Making a standby team / spare officers available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to staff and clients.

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION OF STAFF.
All recruitment and selection practices comply with relevant legislative requirements.
Appointments are competency-based. We use updated lob criteria and specifications provided by the client as the basis of question formulation. Tests and assessments could be consistently and objectively used in conjunction with other measures of screening. Some of the qualities we seek in our Staff are:
- Employee profiles are determined by the applicable job descriptions and site specific requirements.
- Staff must be fluent and well versed in English and must have a good understanding of basic mathematics.
- Staff must be from the local community for practical and social development reasons.
- Staff must display a tendency to be well-groomed and must be friendly, polite and courteous when dealing with guests.
- Staff must be passionate about service.
Criminal, credit and reference checks shall be conducted where necessary and justifiable with due regard to the rights of privacy and confidentiality of the candidate and referee.
The company standard policy and procedure prior to employment includes:

LABOUR RELATIONS AND LEGAL ASPECTS
SpringForest Security Managers conduct counseling and disciplinary action for serious offences. We encourage our clients ‘supervisors and managers to enforce the day-to-day discipline to ensure they are respected by the staff. It is also important for driving home the values and principles of the client and to highlight the very important fact that they are involved in a partnership with the client.
We comply with Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and applicable Wage Determinations, the Labour Relations Act (LRA), the unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and the Compensation For Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COID).
Employee’s tax – we deduct SITE and PAYE from ouremployees’ earnings as prescribed by the taxation laws and pay the taxes to the Receiver of Revenue monthly.
Hours of work – our averagehours per week consist of 48 hours. Hours’work in excess of 208 hours for the month is considered as overtime at time and a half. Any hours worked on Public Holidays changed at double the normal rate and Sundays are time and a half.
SITE MANAGEMENT
Spring Forest Security Services allocate a permanent contract manager to sites where staff is working at least five shifts per week each and is employed to ensure the quality of the staff provided conforms to the expected standard. Their areas of responsibility. Include management and control of appearance, uniforms, service standards, absenteeism, attitude, time keeping, discipline and ongoing quality assurance through staff skills assessments based on criteria set out by the client’s standard operation procedures.
The manager produces management reports as and when required by the client.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
Our staff members are selected with the highest level of schooling, and with particular emphasis on employing the correct attitude and not necessarily the skill. To ensure that our service promise is backed up by our service delivery we aim to train and develop staff in order to display and execute the behavioural, knowledge and skill sets required to ensure service excellence for the job.
We belief that there is no better place to train staff than on site. By means of offering both practical and theoretical training we promote the development of a skilled workforce, thereby creating productive staff. A structured training plan can be formulated to ensure that the highest level of service is provided and specialize training will be done at the discretion of Spring Forest Security Services or on request of the Client establishment.
Where experienced staff members are sourced, it is anticipated that two days of on the job training is provided before commencing duty. Untrained, inexperienced staff will undergo at least five days on – the – job training. Furthermore, assessments are done on a daily basis where our contract management team works closely with the client to ensure that set Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to. Service delivery shortfalls are then highlighted and focused training sessions are conducted to address these shortfalls immediately.
Our staff members are both the establishment and Spring Forest Security Services largest asset, and growth and development is top priority. Wherever it deemed possible, staff members that are being develop will be given the opportunity to grow within the organization thus making it sustainable development.
UNIFORMS
Unless otherwise specified, uniforms are provided by Spring Forest Security Services. In case where Spring Forest Security Services has to provide uniforms it would be purchased in consultation with the Client and specified in the rate schedule.
TRANSPORT
Not provided and is negotiable depending on client’s requirements and existing transport arrangements.
MEALS
None provided for and it is dependent on the client’s meal policies and facilities provided.
