Reporting Relationship: CSE Program Director
Primary Accountability: This position is the point of contact for educational or preventive presentations on domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking in this community. The public educator further participates in organizing events to raise awareness for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.
Major Duties:
Education
· Develops and implements presentations on domestic and sexual violence for schools and community groups.
· Schedules and coordinates speaking engagements.
· Provides CSE staff with training materials
· Actively promotes volunteer opportunities to the community
Client Services
· Provides crisis intervention with clients as needed and as schedule allows.
· Takes rotation as staff back-up on call. Provides support for crisis calls and sexual assault as needed.
Miscellaneous
· Attends weekly staff meetings.
· Completes all timekeeping records as required by funders.
· Provides additional responsibilities as assigned by Program Director.
· Actively promotes and supports the organization’s mission and vision.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, human services, women’s studies or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Basic understanding of domestic and sexual violence.
· Experience in public speaking.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently.
· Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
· Ability to function in a crisis setting where interruptions are frequent.
· Ability to work effectively with adolescents and adults.
· Ability to work effectively with clients.
· Certified in First Aid and CPR (must earn certification within 180 days of hire).
Addendum:
This position will serve as the point of contact for all YWCA CSE fundraising activity, including but not limited to, the annual art auction and end of the year sustainer drive
As such, this position will
1. Assist the YWCA resource development staff specific to CSE fundraising and resource development activities
3. Coordinate with CSE Program Director, YWCA CEO, and Resource Development director on projects;
Physical Demands:
· Able to lift 50 pounds.
· Able to climb flights of stairs multiple times daily.
· Must have reliable transportation that can be used for business purposes.
Work Environment:
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
· Must be able to function professionally in an environment where crisis is occurring routinely.
