Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 3 December 2013
Present:
Jackie Wood, Melissa Stroud,Paul Roberts, Kay Meakes, Su Potter, Clare Hawkins, Christine McGarvie, Lauren Purnell, Sam Ford, Jim Lees-Smith and Mike Paine.

3. Treasurer’s Report
Christine confirmed spenditure on FS Books, Display board and Trolley Tokens. We were given hand out of current state of play of PTA accounts. Christine confirmed we made £2600 on Craft Fair which as expected was down on last year, less overall on door. Melissa to do match funding letter for Richard Purnell to pass onto Vodafone for another £350 donation towards this event.
4. Feedback on Craft fair
General discussion on maybe there were too many stalls, and Claire advised that we may be changing format of Christmas craft fair next year, maybe on a Friday night like summer fair. More discussion on this in the New Year. Melissa said everyone did good work on the day.
5. Funding Requests
Jackie Wood thanked PTA for playground equipment approved by PTA previously.
Reading Eggs up and running as well.
Approval requested and given for £1000 to supply 6 bikes/6 scooters/6 helmets for Key Stage 1 playground. APPROVED
6. Future Events Christmas Discos – 13 December 2013
Paul Roberts to take over as DJ as Mike Paine cannot do. Mike requested that lights need to be checked for any broken bulbs as he has spares and PA to be out can Shane do this. There was a discussion on playlists and suitability of some of the songs.
FS Disco – 3.30 – 4.15 to be music with party games, Volunteers are Liz Wirth and Sam Ford.
Lauren to request squash is bought by Amanda. The sweet bags left over from Craft fair can be used for FS, and then we need Haribo/refreshers/sherbert dipper etc for the other 3 discos.
Melissa will email rota for discos.
7. Carols around Christmas Trees 19 December 2013
There was a discussion as to whether PTA needed to be involved in this, Jackie doesn’t know the exact plan for that evening will speak with Rhoda Elvin.
8 Christmas Challenge
Melissa will be passing completed challenge form to Jackie, to be put in children’s bags over Christmas. The children have a list of 20 challenges, and over the Christmas period they get family and friends to pay 20p if they have achieved any of the challenges.
9. PTA Award
Again Justin Nicel had suggested this but was unable to attend discussion postponed until next meeting.
10.Any Other Business
Discussion on 100 club, we have about 20 people taking part so far. Perhaps need more advertising. A table at the Carol Concert has been suggested, and information sent out on Parent Mail.
Monthly Draw can take place as long as there are PTA members as witness’ doesn’t have to be at a meeting.
First draw completed tonight
The 1st place prize of £5 goes to Sam Ford
The 2nd place prize of £3 goes to Lucy Edwards
The 3rd place prize of £2 goes to Lynn Rodford
£11 to into the PTA fund.
