A RESOLUTION honoring the members, families, and employers of the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard.
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard stand ready to defend the lives and property of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and to defend this nation; and
WHEREAS, there are members of the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard at this moment serving in the War on Terrorism here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, across the United States of America and around the world, including Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, these citizen-soldiers make great personal and professional sacrifices to serve our Commonwealth and nation; and
WHEREAS, the families of these soldiers and airmen endure not only the hardship of separation, but offer the greatest gift they possess in defense of this nation - the life of their loved ones; and
WHEREAS, the employers of these soldiers and airmen have gone above and beyond the call of duty with their support of the Kentucky National Guard mission;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of this honorable body, both individually and collectively, recognize and applaud the devotion to duty, bravery, and self sacrifice of the members of the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard.
Section 2. The members of this honorable body, both individually and collectively, recognize and honor the commitment and sacrifice that is made by the families and loved ones of the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard, allowing them to serve our great Commonwealth and Nation in this time of national need.
Section 3. The members of this honorable body, both individually and collectively, applaud the employers of Kentucky National Guard soldiers and airmen for their outstanding patriotism and support.
Section 4. The members of this honorable body, both individually and collectively, declare their most sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to the men and women of the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard and to their families and loved ones for their great gift of service and sacrifice.
Section 5. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit 60 copies of this Resolution to MG D. Allen Youngman, The Adjutant General, Boone National Guard Center, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601 for display in the Kentucky Army and Air National Guard armories and installations across the Commonwealth.
