The Debut Duo:

Worster and Goodyear

PAL exhibit features Worster, Goodyear art….

The Palette Art League, in Yellville, is pleased

to announce its April gallery exhibit will feature

the combined works of local artist, Anni Worster,

clay artist, and Eureka Springs painter and

printmaker, Janet Goodyear. The exhibit will include (Worster) (Goodyear)

free-form sculptures and art pottery from Worster's Earth, Fire and Water Collection, and Goodyear's paintings, etchings and serigraphs, which reflect the artist's unique view of life.

Worster, a native of Arkansas, lives in Yellville where she began her interest in creating free-form sculptures and hand-built art pottery with stoneware and porcelain clay several years ago.

She initially began her art career in painting and photography, and because of her appreciation of the beauty in nature, things in nature became the subjects of her clay art. Since beginning her sculpting career, she creates a permanent visual of beautiful things in nature or inspired by nature. Each of Worster's original sculptures is included in one of five series: "Fanta-Sea," "Fantasy Flowers," "Forever Rose," "Forever Forest," or "Enchantments."

Her creations have been the focus of a fundraiser to raise money for the American Cancer Society in "Creating Eve;" donated as a memorial piece to Hospice House in Mountain Home in "Roses For Peggy;" and donated to silent art auctions for Relay for Life in "Moonraker," "Lily Among the Thorns," and "Celebration of Life," and to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in "Joyous Journey."

Worster's "Lightseekers," "Genesis" and "Spring's First Lady" sculptures were published in Fired Arts Magazine, an internationally distributed magazine designed for artists to showcase their work and share artistic knowledge with other artists. Her free-form sculpture "Forest Dwellers" was the recipient of Best of Show 2007 Green Bay, Wisconsin Fired Arts Alliance sponsored competition and educational event.

Janet Goodyear has been a painter and printmaker for 25 years. Born in Pensacola, Florida to a Navy surgeon, she was one of eight children. A fascination with arts and humanities led to Goodyear's desire to pursue art studies, and she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Indiana University. She continued her studies at the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of New Orleans.

Goodyear has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada and the United States visiting museums and art collections.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Goodyear relocated to Eureka Springs from New Orleans, where there is ample material for inspiration to translate her fascination with shapes and patterns of nature into works of art.

Goodyear has received numerous awards for printmaking and paintings, which depict scenes from life and nature scenes with intense, vibrant colors. Goodyear's works were included in a traveling museum show sponsored by the Southern Graphics Society visiting sites throughout the southeastern United States.

Both Worster and Goodyear are members of the Palette Art League, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, which has been in existence more than ten years and is designed to promote the arts through education, competitions and exhibitions. Worster also is a member of the Arkansas Craft Guild, headquartered in Mountain View.

The Palette Art League is excited to showcase the talents of these two artists and extends an invitation to artists and art enthusiasts to meet Worster and Gooyear at a reception Saturday, April 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the gallery located at 300 Highway 62 West, in Yellville. The exhibit will close

April 30.
