JOB TITLE: Greater Manchester Nutrition and Hydration Project Workers x 5
RESPONSIBLE TO: Greater Manchester Nutrition and Hydration Programme Manager
LOCATION: Primarily based in one of the delivery localities – Stockport, Bury, Rochdale, Bolton or Oldham with some time spent at Age UK Salford, The Green, Clifton M27 8QL
HOURS: Part Time 17.5 hours per week funded until the end of March 2020
SALARY: £28,036 per annum pro rata, £14,018 actual funded until end of March 2020
JOB PURPOSE: (to be read in conjunction with additional information provided*)
To deliver the pilot project in one of the identified localities to embed better awareness about the risks and signs of malnutrition and dehydration amongst individuals, carers and non-clinically trained practitioners who have routine contact with older people aged 65+. Possessing excellent organisational and influencing skills the post holder will work closely with public health leads in each of the localities to support and facilitate a local steering group of stakeholders to progress the aims of the project. These include earlier identification and intervention in malnutrition and dehydration by building on the Salford modeland use of the PaperWeight Armband*
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Management
With support from the Programme Manager the post holder will
· build and manage delivery plans with their local steering group ensuring these are cross referenced to wider project objectives including data collection
· produce regular reports to illustrate the development of the work within the locality and evidence progress towards project outcomes
· participate fully in a formal evaluation led by the University of Manchester
2. Communication and Relationship Skills
The post holder will
· liaise and build relationships with key partners
· be proactive in maintaining effective lines of communication with the Programme Manager, local steering group and partners and with Project Workers in the other localities
· be an effective influencer able to negotiate and motivate teams on project delivery including project steering groups where necessary.
· design and deliver formal presentations
3. Systems and Equipment
The post holder will
· have a high degree of computer literacy in the use of Microsoft Office packages; Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.
· undertake data collection and their subsequent inputting into IT based packages.
4. Policy / service development information
The post holder will
· work within organisational policies and procedures of the respective project
· provide feedback and share information with the Programme Manager and Project Workers in the other localities to support the development of the project and best practice
· provide training for team members
5. Financial and physical resources systems
The post holder will
· liaise with the Programme Manager to support the locality to make best use of the project budget
· record budget expenditure in accordance with procedures
· be responsible for the care and safe use of office equipment and the security of office premises, reporting faults / failures to the responsible person.

2. To demonstrate personal leadership by contributing towards continuous service improvement adopting a positive approach to change and willingness to seek solutions to resolve the day to day challenges of delivering effective services for older people
3. To attend regular formal supervision with the Line Manager and undertake training to update skills and knowledge appropriate to the role
4. Willingness to travel within Greater Manchester and beyond.
5. Willingness to work outside normal working hours including evenings and weekends and to participate in promotional, fundraising and income generating events, activities and any other duties as may be reasonably required by the organisation.

The following requirements will be assessed from a combination of information provided from the application form, panel interview process and references:
Education and Qualifications / Essential / DesirableNVQ level 4, Degree or equivalent in relevant subject
Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2 / X / X
Skills, Knowledge and Experience / Essential / Desirable
1. Experience within the charitable or statutory sector and an understanding of the current issues and complexities
2. Have a knowledge of recognised Project Management tools and have delivered projects through such methodologies
3. Experience of communicating with all levels of professional staff and the public
4. Ability to produce written reports and presentations
5. Experience of dealing with confidential data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records
6. Experience of organisational business partnering and relationship management, and able together a wide range of views to build consensus and agreement
7. Experience of operating Microsoft Office Suite
8. Ability to work on own initiative, manage workload pressures, meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
9. Ability to organise multidisciplinary meetings and events
10. Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
