Minutes of the Previous Open meeting 16th May : Approved

Matters Arising:

NHS S Glos Deputy Head of Medicines Management Ian Mullan

Ian Mullan gave the committee an overview of the ‘new’ commissioning system and the guiding principles. Also the LPN within the National commissioning board. Confirmed there will be pharmacy representation. Avon LPC advised him of Richard Browns appointment as communication officer and that his first role will be to actively be involved with LPN

Questions from Avon LPC were asked regarding supervised methadone – more clarity will arise in due course.

Pharmacist causing concern - IM voiced concern over a recent incident which has prompted the question ‘how do you deal with concerning matters and who do you report too?’

Action – Agreed to discuss how to deal with such matter at a later date.

‘Out of stock’ concerns on promoting best practise to avoid miss understanding with GP surgeries.

Action – Newsletter item.

EPS (2) S Glos to launch testing in September if LPC is in favour.

NMS Activity – IM circulated spreadsheet a number of payments and number of Pharmacies taking part from October 2011 – March 2012

Public Health Campaigns run in association with the council – challenging the value from services - Stop Smoking. It was suggested better advertising and a poster to promote free NRT ‘stop smoking therapy’ here.
