As an intern, you will be supporting the Director of EHS through varied challenges and opportunities, gaining valuable experience in the following areas:

  • Coordinating reviews of Siemens plc’s EHS Polices and Procedures
  • Collating and analysing EHS accident and incident statistics
  • Tracking the completion of incident investigation reports and the Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) identified in the reports
  • The escalation of risk and key issues to the Executive Management Board (EMB)
  • Preparing management reports and presentations
  • Assisting with the Executive Risk Management (ERM) process
  • Reviewing data in the Performance Measuring and Monitoring Process (PMMP), such as Risk Registers and Objectives entered by Siemens plc Operating Business
  • Observing internal and external audits and inspections
  • Supporting Corporate Programmes such as Zero Harm and Road Safety
  • Supporting the implementation of strategic EHS Objectives and KPIs for Siemens plc;
  • Assisting with the cascade of Corporate initiatives from the parent company Siemens AG to the Divisions
  • Compiling data for internal reporting requirements set by Siemens AG
  • Identifying key areas for improvement and facilitate implementation

What are my responsibilities?

  • As a member of the Siemens plc EHS team take ownership for the completion of all allocated tasks to the best of your ability
  • To fully participate and engage with the internship scheme, by completing all elements of a structured training plan, including the Siemens plc Intern Development Programme
  • To work towards personal goals and objectives set at regular learner reviews, and actively seek opportunities for personal and professional development

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You must be studying towards a 2:2 or above degree in Environmental Studies, Safety, Business Management, or a related subject
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You must have excellent organisational and time management skills
  • You must have excellent problem solving, analytical and reasoning skills
  • You must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • You must be a good team player and also be able to work independently and be self motivated
