Issue Date: March 9, 2016

This Addendum is hereby made a part of the Bidding Documents and Project Documents to the same extent as if it was originally included therein and is intended to modify and/or interpret the bidding documents by additions, deletions, clarifications or corrections. The Contractor shall acknowledge in the proposal the receipt of this Addendum.

CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Item 1: Refer to sheet DME100, “MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL ROOF DEMOLITION PLAN”:

·  Exhaust fan EF-5 and EF-6 shall remain in place. Demolition work denoted by keynote #8 shall not be performed. Existing exhaust fans shall operate as currently intended and shall not be altered in any way.

Item 2: Refer to sheet DM100, “BUILDING 3 MECHANICAL DEMOLITION PLAN”:

·  Existing exhaust grille, ductwork, and fire damper shall remain in place. Demolition work denoted by keynote #2 shall not be performed.

Item 3: Refer to sheet M500, “MECHANICAL DIAGRAMS”:

·  Outside Air / Relief Air dampers shown on diagrams and denoted by keynote #6 (both details) shall be modulating dampers.

·  Constant Volume Unit P&ID: Hose Reel status shall be a monitored point (not controlling OA damper)

·  Exhaust Fan shall be continued to be controlled by CNG sensor within space.

Item 4: Refer to sheet M501, “MECHANICAL DIAGRAMS”:

·  Space humidity and humidification control shall be omitted. There is no humidification capabilities in these units.

Item 5: Refer to sheet M700, “MECHANICAL SCHEDULES”:

·  Energy Recovery Unit (ERU) accessories shall include items 16, 17, and 18 in addition to the 1-15 specified.

·  Energy Recovery Unit scheduled accessory #5: Communications card shall be for a LON based communication protocol (in lieu of BACNet listed). Verify and coordinate with C&C Group.

·  Energy Recovery Unit scheduled accessory #17: Shall be revised to be a gravity backdraft damper on exhaust air outlet.

·  Rooftop Unit Schedule (Natural Gas and Electric Heat): Both unit types are to be provided with factory provided controllers with BAS communications card (LON based communication protocol). Disregard thermostat and note #2 regarding controls terminal block.

·  Rooftop Unit Schedule (Natural Gas and Electric Heat): Unit shall be included with the following accessories:

o  MD – Modulating Outdoor Air Damper

o  Dehumidification Control (Hot Gas Reheat) – RTU-4 and RTU-5.

o  10 year Heat Exchanger Warranty

o  Variable Frequency Drives (all Units)

Specification Changes

Item 1: Refer to Specification Section “230923”, “Direct Digital Controls System for HVAC”:

·  All references to BACNet shall be replaced with LON as the communication protocol. Verify and coordinate with C&C Group.

·  Paragraph 1.4-A shall be omitted. Refer to clarification statement regarding controls work and integration into existing Energy Management System.

·  Paragraph 1.4-B: The use of other manufacturer’s products to facilitate the control of new HVAC units installed under this project and communication with existing Energy Management System is allowable, given the products are suitable to facilitate such communication without disruption the existing Energy Management System operation.

·  Paragraph 2.1-C shall be revised to read: “This project includes packaged DX Rooftop Air Handling Units (with natural gas or electric heat), Dedicated Outdoor Air Rooftop Ventilation Units with Energy Recovery, and ancillary existing equipment (exhaust fans, vehicle exhaust). Under this project the controls contractor shall integrate the aforementioned systems into the existing Energy Management System using the existing communication protocol (LON).

CLARIFICATION

The awarded Contractor will be required to install equipment and run new control wiring as necessary from the equipment and connect to the EMS. The Contractor will not be required to program or otherwise integrate the units into the EMS. KCATA’s existing EMS vendor, C&C Group, will perform all programming and integration of controls into the EMS. The Contractor shall be required to coordinate and cooperate with C&C during integration to assure all HVAC units startup and operate in accordance with the specifications and manufacturers recommendations.

Any work performed by C&C Group for controls integration into the EMS will be paid by KCATA under existing contract or from the project Force Account.

CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS

1.  Although separated by bid item, all Rooftop Units and Energy Recovery Units shall be of the same manufacturer.

2.  Do the bid documents for the second tier subcontractors have to be turned in at the same time as the general contractor has to submit, (due date March 15)? Yes. All documentation for the Prime and all second tier (subcontractors) is due at the time of bid submission. As discussed at the pre-bid meeting, there is no 48 hour allotment of time for documentation to be returned, therefore those bidders who fail to provide all required documentation at bid time may be found non-responsive and the bid rejected.

QUESTIONS SUBMITTED FROM POTENTIAL BIDDERS

  1. What offices does each of the Rooftop Units Serve?– RTU 1- North east body shop, RTU 2 – Southeast Body shop, RTU 3 – Facilities office, Breakroom,Hallway. RTU 4 – Facilities shop area. RTU 5 – Body shop Fabric shop. RTU 3A – Breen Building

2.  What are the Occupied Hours for each RTU? - RTU #1,#2 & #5 6AM -4PM , RTU #3& #4 6AM -6PM, RTU 3a 6am -7pm

  1. Can the work be performed after Occupied Hours during the week? Yes. With prior coordination.

4.  Can the work be performed on the weekends? Yes. With prior coordination.

  1. What Holidays will be allowed to work on? None.

6.  How many of these units can be replaced at one time? This information is detailed on sheet ME200, Implementation Method of Procedure

  1. Does the KCATA want the old units or does the contractor need to remove the units from the site? Remove from site.
  2. Is the Service Agreement for the area being served going to be Bid separately or left as a part of the overall Controls Service Agreement? Unchanged.
