Inter-School Rugby & Netball Matches
Last Friday we played rugby and netball matches away at Litchard Primary School. On the netball court both our ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams registered victories by 3 goals to nil and 2 goals to nil respectively. Our ‘A’ rugby team won by 5 tries to one with Lloyd Thomas (3) and Finley Davies (2) scoring. Our ‘B’ rugby team also won by 5 tries to one with Rio Williams (2), Jake Beecham,
Curtis Baker and Cohen Davidson scoring. Congratulations to all who took part – there were several pupils representing our school for the first time and all tried their very best. Thank you to our parents, grandparents and friends of the school who supported our teams last Friday. On Friday 22nd September we will be playing matches at home to Cefn Cribwr Primary School, starting at approximately 1.20 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend matches to support our teams.

Swimming Lessons – Autumn Term 2017
Swimming lessons for Class 10 (Miss Morgan) will begin on Monday 2nd October and will continue until Friday 13th October. Pupils in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will have daily lessons from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at Pyle Pool. The timetable for the Autumn Term 2017 is as follows:

PTA Coffee Meeting - Tuesday 3rd October 2017

Pupil Achievements
A number of our pupils have recently achieved success in their hobbies outside of school. For example, Year 5 pupil Tiana Woodward finished in 1st place in her age category in a Kyudokan Martial Arts competition in Pontypool last weekend. Year 3 pupil Chloe Davies won two medals in a Lifeguards competition at Barry beach. Also, Year 1 pupils Effie Owen and Lacie-Rae Powell have achieved swimming certificates. Well done to you all – you should be very proud of your achievements!
Petunia Pig
One of our volunteers at the Foundation Phase (Infants site), Mrs Shirley Hooper, continues to raise funds through Petunia Pig. Pupils may bring any spare coins to put in this money-box and will receive a ‘prize’ in return. Last term, a total of £84 was raised! Thank you in anticipation for your support.
