STATE ADVISER UPDATE
September 3, 2010
State Theme and Project for 2010-2011. Be sure to incorporate this year’s state theme in all of your chapter activities: Florida FBLA-PBL—Electrifying Leadership. We also hope that you are already making plans on how your chapter can support the state project: the March of Dimes. Please take a moment to complete this survey about participating in the state/national project:
State Handbook. A copy of the 2010-2011 State FBLA-PBL Handbook is attached. The Florida FBLA-PBL web site has also been updated with the most current competitive event guidelines.

Membership. New membership recruiting DVDs were sent to FBLA and PBL local chapter advisers from the national office..
Please remember the following to ensure your school membership records are handled efficiently and accurately:
- To enroll a returning member for the current membership year, look for the member name from the list and select the student year from the drop down menu before you check the box to enroll. Then move your mouse to check the box next to the student name.
- When enrolling new student members, make sure the first and last names are in the correct fields, and use proper uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Try to include as many students as possible on one invoice.
- Send documentation (hard copy of the invoice) with payment.
- If a correction needs to be made to the spelling of a student name, e-mail to .
Fall Activity Day. We hope that many of you are planning to join us at Busch Gardens on October 30. Remember, advisers, you can bring your family as well at these discounted prices. I know several chapters are using this as a recruiting tool, and we are very excited to be able to offer you this opportunity. Remember, the deadline is quickly approaching. Orders and money must be received by October 9. Get your officers busy recruiting and motivating!
State Fall Conference. Please take advantage of the upcoming Florida Fall State Leadership Conference. The registration packet is available on our web site. Remember that registration must be received by October 20. Join us in Palm Beach as we Electrify Leadership!
National Fall Conference. If your chapter is planning to attend one of the National Fall Leadership Conferences, please send me an email and let me know the following: name of the school, how many attending, and which conference you will be going to. I need to report these numbers to the national office.
Fall Stock Market Game. The fall Stock Market Game will begin September 7 and end December 17. Chapters may register through September 22 in the Adviser area of the national Web site,
Florida FBLA-PBL Communicator. Are you interested in being published in the Florida FBLA-PBL Communicator? If so, get your articles in by September 30. FBLA articles should be submitted to and PBL articles should be submitted to .
