Moving and Sizing Windows

Open the My Computer icon into a window.
Move the My Computer Window / Our focus is on moving and sizing a window. Let’s open the My Computer window into an icon again. First we will move the My Computer window. Point your mouse to the Title Bar. Ensure that the mouse looks like a single-headed arrow pointed left at a 45-degree angle. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the window anywhere on the screen. Observe that the window did not change size.
Size the My Computer window horizontally. Take the mouse to left side of the My Computer window and ensure the sizing arrows display. Show window widening and narrowing horizontally. / Now let’s size the window. If you want to horizontally widen or narrow the window, point your mouse to either the right or left side of the window edge. Notice it becomes a 2-headed, horizontal arrow. Hold down the left mouse button while you drag the mouse left. The window will widen. Drag the size arrow to the right and the window will widen.
Size the My Computer window vertically. / To make a window shorter or taller vertically, point your mouse to the top edge of the window. Notice it becomes a 2-headed, vertical arrow. Hold down the left mouse button while you drag your mouse up. The window becomes taller. Drag the mouse down or towards you and the window will grow shorter.
Size the My Computer window proportionally. / To size a window proportionally, point the mouse to the lower right corner of the window. Allow it to sit atop what appears to be an embossed triangle. Observe the 2-headed arrow is angled 45 degrees. Hold down the left mouse button and drag it in and out. Notice the window maintains its original proportions.
Size My Computer window so small that scroll bars appear. Use scroll bars to display hidden icons. / Let’s size a window so small that some of the icons are hidden. Notice that Scroll Bars appear in the window. Scroll to see hidden icons.
