A. The meeting was called to order at 12:10 am by GSA President, William Nathan Jr.

- Starts November 9th – 13th / 7:00-9pm event times
- Valarie will schedule a meeting if all the Presidents of the different organizations to increase participation and inform them of what the week will entail.
- Will asked that the meeting be scheduled on a Tuesday/ Ramonia will forward the professional week email to Valarie which already has an agreed date.
- Priya suggested teaming up with the performing arts department in order to recruit dancers such as African dancers to perform at an event.
- We will hold a kickoff event.
- Winter Wonder Land
- Winter Gala
- December 4th 7:00-10:00pm
- La Fontaine Bleueresponded to Ramonia’s request. Plates will be around $35/person.
- 100 person limit
- Budget for the $7500
- Will would like to include awarded for achieved students
- We need send out a notification requesting for people to recommend a graduating student to receive an award. Valarie and Ramonia will review the packet.
- Community Service Event- Project Hygiene
- GSA will partner with SAA (Student Alumni Association) to deliver toilet paper
- Duration is from October 1st– November 31st
- We will use this as our community service event
- Whoever delivers the most toiletries will receive a gift
- Alumni Scholarship Gala
- Held October, Friday 9th from 7-11pm at Matins Crosswinds
- Table is $1000 per table
- We need active current students on thesheets
- GSA purchases 2 tables with 10 people to a table
- New Business
- Will Nathan
- Strategic Planning
- Will and Priya will update the constitution on November 3rd.
- Campus Safety
- Will plans to have a speaker come to the General Body Meeting to talk about campus safety
- Satisfaction Survey
- Will asked that each executive board member sends in 2 questions to include in the satisfaction survey.
- Membership drive will be conducted on October 13th.
- Parking
- Ramonia and Priya should see Marie Meeha in campus safety to get a plaque to put in their cars.
- Will mentioned that all of the events that fall under GSA should include GSA on their flyers and promotions because we help to sponsor them.
- Priya
- Priya will speak on behalf of GSA about putting on the Movie Premier Event. She will maintain a proposal entailing everything the event host needs in order to put on a successful event.
- She will speak with Ellison or Mrs. Tyler about Roosevelt Entertainment being able to sell his DVDs at the event.
- Priya suggested creating one document with all the events for the month. (Special Events Calendar)
- Priya suggested creating an Event Bright in order to get a head count on who’s attending the Premier.
- Ramonia
- Ki Sigma Iota will host a domestic violence workshop and Ramonia suggested we collaborate with them in efforts to promote the fight against domestic violence.
- Ramonia would like to start a committee for the Gala in May.
- Talitha
- Due to a typo in an email, GSA will need to provide two gifts to give away during the GBM. One for the person who brings the most toiletries and one for the person who brings the most guests.
- Valarie
- Valerie agreed be the coordinator for international week.
- Brenna
- Brenna invited everyone to attend the breast cancer walk on Oct 18th. She would like for individuals to donate money to the event and will work with Ramonia to create a flyer promoting the event.
- Conclusion
- The meeting was adjourned at 1:30pm by President William Nathan Jr.
