BNI Coal is a surface mine located near Center, North Dakota. We are seeking an Exploration Drill Operator and a Maintenance Welder to work at the Center Mine.
Exploration Drill Operator
Applicants should be proficient in:
Ø Experience as an overburden rock drill operator operating a crawler mounted, hydraulic top head drive, multi-pass rotary drilling rig.
Ø Experience operating a drilling rig configured as a high pressure DTH drill is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Ø The driller will be responsible to efficiently and accurately drill out patterns for production blasthole drilling.
Ø Candidate will be responsible for logging footage, hours, and performing routine maintenance on the drill.
Minimum requirements:
Ø H.S. Diploma or GED; valid drivers license, 5 years work experience.
Ø Two year college degree may be substituted for 2 years work experience.
Ø A minimum of two years of experience in operating a DML drill or similar blasthole drill is required.
Ø Experience with large construction/earth moving equipment, welding, or diesel mechanics are preferred, but not required.
Mine Maintenance Welder
Responsibilities include:
Ø Maintenance welding of surface mining equipment including draglines, excavators, and mobile mining equipment.
Ø Rebuild/repair welding of dragline, excavator, and wheel loader buckets.
Ø Fabrication of steps, railings, and other miscellaneous metal structures.
Ø Occasional dragline maintenance/mechanic work.
Applicants should be proficient in:
Ø Structural weld repairs utilizing Stick/MIG/TIG weld processes and air-arc gouging.
Ø Use of precision measuring devices.
Ø Oxy-Acetylene cutting, brazing and welding.
Ø Use and interpretation of welding symbols, blueprints, including steel and filler material specifications.
Ø Basic root cause failure analysis and comprehension.
Minimum requirements:
Ø H.S. Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
Ø Computer skills related to the use of electronic parts and service literature.
Ø Ability to work at heights on dragline booms and in confined areas.
Ø 5 years work experience in dragline/shovel repair or heavy equipment welding. Two year technical degree may be substituted for 2 years work experience.
Ø Applicant must pass an AWS D1.1 unlimited thickness 3G and 4G certification test.
